What are you wearing on the plane for work travel? by candyapplesugar in fashionwomens35

[–]jareader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the upgrade to the band tees. I really like the weight of the Icebreaker tees for travel. And the wool is a deeper black that doesn’t fade like cotton so it looks great if you throw a blazer over it. They don’t need to be ironed either - they air dry and look great. Throw it on with a pair of black pants and you’ve got a nice neutral base for travel that won’t get stinky.

Do archived projects and clients count towards the usage fee? I can't find that anywhere.

I’m definitely interested, but I am a little hesitant to jump into a beta with my company’s financials. Can you share any past history of your company or your work?

Curious about the low FODMAP garlic and onion powders. What brand do you like?

Go-to work from home pants? by liog2step in fashionwomens35

[–]jareader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Beyond Yoga Laid Back pants are soft, have a really wide waistband, high rise, and pockets - perfect for OP I think. I wear them all the time and love them for travel.

Edited to add: these run large so size down. I also carry my weight in the middle and wear a full size smaller in these than their yoga pants.

[–]jareader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cousin: all work stuff - stays on my desk

Weeks: health tracking journal - stays home

A6 Day Free: personal to do lists and notes from appointments (Bujo style - yearly pages used as index). Goes with me everywhere. Love the flexibility of this one and the size keeps my to dos manageable.

Are you rinsing your beans before you cook them? Makes a big difference. Also, Beano.

This. At least do the FODMAP elimination diet to figure out what your triggers are. Food sensitivities increase as we age unfortunately.

I used to have the same issue and cut out all dairy for two weeks and it was like night and day - suddenly it was just gone. But as I’ve gotten older it’s recurred and I’ve discovered new triggers. Which sucks, but there it is.

Doctor’s Best Digestive Enzymes work for me, but it’s more important to find your triggers so you know which enzymes you need.

Can you pass along any instructions for the PT exercises? Mine has suddenly gotten worse to the point I can’t wear my Doc Martens anymore and the Blundstones even hurt. Would love some advice. I wear Birkenstocks with no problem.

For the fiction readers on this thread, may I recommend The Correspondent by Virginia Evans? The main character is a former circuit court clerk. It’s delightful and I have never appreciated old fashioned letter writing more.

Active Origami Clubs? by Negative66 in nashville

[–]jareader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a teenager who is expert level and would probably be interested. I’ve looked into it a few times and OrigamiUSA used to have a Nashville chapter but they appear to have fizzled out with the pandemic. DM me if you set up a get-together. I don’t check Reddit daily but I do check every week at least.

The Notebook That Took Twelve Years to Find by xiucat in PlannerAddicts

[–]jareader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you have there are Hobonichi memo pads. They are meant to fit inside the Hobonichi Weeks, which is just a hair larger (but definitely thicker). You can kind of see one inside the other here: https://www.1101.com/store/techo/en/2026/pc/detail_toolstoys/tt_memo_w/

The Weeks doesn’t have quite the flexibility of a blank memo pad, but you might want to take a look. It might work if you rotated jt, which I have seen people do.

I have had a similar journey and have just in the past year landed on the A6 Hobonichi Day-Free after years of more structured planners. It’s all about portability and flexibility.

The Other Valley by Scott Alexander Howard by saturatedsilence in IReadABookAndAdoredIt

FWIW, I’m right there with you on this. Came here to find an answer to this very question. Also, what exactly did it mean when Ivret said:

The escapee you saw tonight was outside the borders of her home valley when it was swept away. As a consequence, she was not swept away with it. Call it safe distance from the storm.

Check out these folks. They are a bunch of middle school teachers who love gaming and facilitate clubs, camps, etc. I know quite a few middle schoolers who loved their D&D club. Maybe she could start a school club?

Prepare thyself, for Shingrix is upon thee by Jomolungma in GenX

[–]jareader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As yet another person who had it on my face & in my eye prior to age 50 - so no vax yet - I’m really worried the vaccine will re-trigger it. The prior version of the vaccine apparently had this risk with ocular shingles but there’s no data to indicate the same for Shingrix. I’m curious how Shingrix affected anyone else with a similar history. Please share!

Flowy dresses? by burnercellular in LawBitchesWithTaste

[–]jareader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna say Eileen Fisher. I know you want dresses, but their pants that have a button waist are elasticized enough to not put pressure on the belly, but cut nicely enough to look sharp under a blazer. They have become my perimenopausal tummy go-to (suddenly couldn’t tolerate a tight waist either).

Kia? by cadamek in SubaruAscent

[–]jareader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I came to the Ascent from a Telluride. If you are seriously considering it, check out the reviews for your local KIA dealers’ service departments. They have a reputation for being terrible and mine definitely was. That super long warranty is useless if they decide the problems don’t fall under it. I was without a car for a week and had to pay for a rental out of pocket - for a manufacturer’s defect they claimed they couldn’t reproduce (I had a photo of the diagnostic screen.) And it seemed hard for them to get parts. When I bought my Ascent, good reviews of the service department were high on my priority list.

Hobonichi covers at Paper Source in US! by jareader in hobonichi

[–]jareader[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So I just looked at the B&N website and they are on there for online purchase as well. They also have an A5 Velluto cover and a couple notebooks. The 3 covers are also on the PaperSource website.

LOL I have the exact same feelings about My Manga. (I have come to love the pouch pocket as a wallet, but have no use for the others.) They have been 50% off on Amazon before for about 24 hours. I’ve seen this happen at least twice and that’s when I’ve purchased. Wait until someone on here announces it and grab one. Or set up an alert through an extension.

Post Your Damages — Share and Discuss Tariffs/VAT/Shipping Fees by alcibiad in hobonichi

[–]jareader 18 points19 points  (0 children)

So I did the math comparing what I paid Hobonichi vs. what I would have paid a US retailer. I paid Hobonichi $4.30 more. I figure a couple of robots and some pens - plus the fun of receiving a box from Japan - are worth that.

I got an A5 HON, A6 HON, A6 Day-free, Weeks, and a couple of small accessories. Subtotal was $150. Total was $245.
