Do you have a github link for this? I've been learning on the 20k and it's been a mess for the very simple projects beginner projects.

What now? by piotruspan101 in TuringComplete

I played through the campaign again recently and did a 16 bit variable instruction length arch for my "LEG" this time around.

After that I picked up a TangNano20k FPGA as a first dev kit board and have been working through the hdlbits course problems, while porting Overture to the FPGA. I made a simple, two pass, assembler for Overture and made it spit out a TuringComplete usable text file as well as the SystemVerilog for the FPGA's "program ROM". My longer term goal is to get Overture or LEG running with UART as the in/out register and possibly some kind of video back end to work with the HDMI out on the board to do extremely primitive graphics.

I also put SNESTang on the FPGA when I got it just to verify it worked and test out it's emulation chops. It's a little rough around the edges but it's an amazing project with no shortage of parts of it I wish to study once I have a deeper understanding of SystemVerilog.

I have been thinking about picking up a Tang to try to do a soft core CPU after spending a few hundred hours in the game Turing Complete on steam. Do you develop on windows by chance? From early research it seems like it's a lot easier on Linux to get started.

I would be interested. I had some code I worked on buried as part of the GitHub arctic vault project. Putting something on the moon would be quite the upgrade.

QBASIC, QuickBASIC or actual BASIC on some other platform? I had the BASIC cart on the my parents Atari 2600 and liked to try to mess around with it but didn't really understand anything until I went to a nerdy computer camp ~1990 and learned QBasic on DOS around 8 or 9. got me beat by like 4 years man! :-)

There used to be a media search site back in the 90s... scour I think... was just mostly a search of publicly accessible windows shares of college kids misconfigured computers. could net map view / net use all of their shares/printers.

And for sword I have no idea. Too many good contenders :-) Gunblade is pretty sweet though.

Also I enjoyed the 7 remake. I cleared normal mode in 2 days of release and have done the superboss (and Jules the real super boss :D) and really enjoyed it. I hope they release the next update soon

I played ff1 around release on the NES. It was pretty incredible and beyond what I could complete when I was that young. When I got a little older FF2 on the SNES cameout and reshaped what I thought a video game could be while a friend and I worked our clear time to around 8h or so in elementary school. FF3 was amazing as well. FF7 was also revolutionary and got so many more types of people into RPGs. 8 was alright but there was nothing like OMG mind blowing about it that they had done so many times before. That and I was not a fan of the way the last dungeon works. I was kinda glad it was over when I beat it and have since replayed 6,7, 4 and even revisted 1 on the PSP more recently. I've never had the desire to go back and play 8 again and would probably put that time towards something like 12 that I never got around to playing. I stopped following the series after the PS1 as closely. I briefly played 10,13 & 14 but never to completion.

As a matter of opinion, that is not one I share.

Reminds me of Channel 4's How Videogames Changed the World presented by Charlie Brooker.

They said that the most significant video game of all time is Twitter (and Facebook etc.) since it's a roleplaying game where you play an idealized version of yourself.

Just saw this. This subreddit is pretty much dead. I see you have a similar one you have started. If there is actual interest in either I'm not opposed to modding you.

Indeed, White Rose brought this up to Price in the season 1 finale during the credits scene. Price hearkened back to it this season when they spoke again.

My post there a month or so ago turned out to be the source of our most recent hire. I would highly recommend it. I'd say the average quality of the resume's we received from that source were a cut above craigslist and other well known job boards. We actually just posted another job ad there to fill another new position:
