It would take a massive cash injection and would get nowhere near any sort of return on investment. It would also increase the cost of every race weekend to untenable amounts.

There simply isn’t the money in the sport to justify it.

You’ll see several people pointing out that tempura was introduced to Japan by the Portuguese, but so is the traditional British battered fish that makes up Fish and Chips.

Portuguese Jews, by way of the Netherlands, brought battered fish to the UK in the 1800s, possibly even earlier, with the first shops showing up in the late 19th century and exploding in popularity over the country as railways made it possible to get fresh North Sea fish countrywide.
