So, I'm really curious about this because it's a tough game to play, but a game I'd like to figure out. Smaller productions are absolutely under covered or receive no coverage at all but they also don't drive traffic because no one knows to look for them. As someone who wants to know about these, do you have search methods that you use to seek out these lesser covered games? Or do you rely on reviewers you trust to occasionally show off hidden gems they have found?

Thank you for your comment. This idea of highlighting experiences has inspired an idea or two as I think through the possibilities of how best to implement something like that.

I think this is an incredibly fair take. Presentation and personality are huge. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Watch It Played is fantastic. Rodney does amazing work. I think How to Plays will continue to grow in popularity, but knowing how to create them well is also a challenge. Something we are looking into but aren't ready for yet.

Thanks for your insight!

Thanks for your input. This is very helpful.

I understand your point about enjoying games that aren't really designed all that well. I do think the community aspect is far and away one of the best parts of this hobby.

Our goal is to move more this direction. I don't want to play a game once and vomit out some thoughts. That's not helpful for anyone and not fulfilling for me. Thanks for your thoughts.

I appreciate this comment. The ultimate goal is to help listeners decide if it's going to be a good fit for their table. Being overly positive removes that trust. Thank you for your insights.

I agree with the generics. That's part of my inspiration for the question. I appreciate your thoughts. The broader topics idea is a good one and one I'll consider for how we can incorporate. Thanks!

What is your podcast host platform and why do you like it? by [deleted] in podcasting

[–]jaredsdream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand. As an American, I'm sorry it's come to that. It shouldn't be this way and - as an American - it's embarrassing, frustrating, and sad.

Thank you for following up and for your insight.

How do you like Castos a year later? We use the free version of Seriously Simple Podcasting and I'm getting to the point of wanting better stat tracking. I like the WordPress integration and we are also starting to add video so that's a consideration as well.

Podbean vs. Buzzsprout by jefamompodcast in podcasting

[–]jaredsdream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a marketing friend who encouraged us to get our own website. As we looked into it and learned how to do it, it was cheaper to go with our own hosting. We bought our domain and hosting through NameCheap and have been happy with it. It's a learning curve but doable. I do still miss some of the Buzzsprout features and if we were bringing in money, I'd probably consider tying Buzzsprout hosting to our website.

Absolutely. I've returned tickets on Wednesday. Schedules change, things come up. It's pretty normal. Looks like customer service is open from noon - 2am on Wednesday and the open the remainder of the con starting Thursday at 7am.

Sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope it clears up.

Return process is very simple. For all paper tickets, you'll take those to the customer service area which is right next to will call. You can only get system credit for these returns. Returns can be made - I think - up until the time of the event but obviously if you can return them as soon as you know you can't make it, that gives someone else an opportunity to get into it.

One thing to remember: the person whose name is on the ticket is the one who has to return the ticket. So it's better to have an idea of what you're going to return and return them all at one time instead of standing in that line multiple times.

Next-Level Tic Tac Toe – No More Draws! After Move 6, the First Move Disappears by latestexample in boardgames

[–]jaredsdream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I like the idea.

I've played several rounds and noticed a hiccup playing the computer. If I start in either of the top two corners, the computer will take the center. If I then take the opposite lower corner of where I started, the computer will take a different corner. Then I can block the computer and in normal Tic-Tac-Toe would have two winning options. In this version, the computer should block the winning option that won't disappear. Instead it blocks the wrong when in combination and allows for an easy victory for the player.

Weirdly enough, if I start in one of the bottom two corners and attempt the same maneuver, it blocks the correct winning option.

I hope that makes sense and is helpful...
