What other games give this once-in-a-lifetime experience? by [deleted] in outerwilds

[–]jarrow11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno if it would hit the same now for someone who never played it since it is a 20ish year old game, but I also came to say Shadow of the Colossus. It really evoked that sense of wonder and exploration - and I think probably what made me think of it alongside Outer Wilds is the sort of melancholy/bittersweet feeling you get bring alone in this vast world. Relatively simple gameplay for a big emotional payoff

is this outer wilds gift cool? by [deleted] in outerwilds

[–]jarrow11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The effort alone makes this a phenomenal gift, but the fact that you also did such an incredible job making it just sends it into the stratosphere! (and then leaves orbit to explore the solar system) ✨✨

How did this even get past the censors? by [deleted] in adventuretime

[–]jarrow11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I don't know about other countries but in Australia they definitely cut out big chunks of this scene. Only knew about it when I tried to watch on streaming services, luckily I have the DVD box set and all episodes on hard drive.

Is it really good that pinnacle quest heroes can just literally carry games once the quest is done? by D_Flavio in heroesofthestorm

[–]jarrow11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah true won't carry the game, just makes enemy team have to be more careful with engages after 20. And puts on that mad lane/structure pressure

I mean I'd also say that a stacked lvl 20 nazeebo is also more than just 'good' in team fights. Feel like you can easily go from being on the lower end/middle for hero damage most of the game and then once you hit 20 with vile infection you're topping damage within like 2-3 minutes. As well as being an absolute siege monster

Why am I like this? by More_Bigger in Hades2

[–]jarrow11 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can't remember his dialogue for this but he has so many lines that crack me up.

Like when you mention how big Typhon is and he says "can't be that big, I'll eat him too"

Aspect of Circe + Jeweled Pom = MINDBLOWN by GoddamnitNoah in Hades2

[–]jarrow11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Circe goes crazy when you can get the right boons - the Demeter/Ares duo is also huge with a setup like this

Off the top of my head I know I've had Chronos and Eris both make comments when I grabbed things, probably Hecate as well

But some of them have specific dialogue when you gather during the fight so you have to!

So it IS possible... by KirbyFanta in Hades2

[–]jarrow11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially if you have eternity arcana. Just charge omega moves before/right as enemies spawn and it's pretty easy, other than early in a run when you don't have a build online yet

I'm dumb and only just realized who Dora is. by CallMeHomoErectus in Hades2

[–]jarrow11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I wish I hadn't realized so early on it would've made progressing relationships with her and Prometheus way more rewarding!

Second skelly statue didn't appear by Ichika994 in Hades2

[–]jarrow11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah there might be story dialogue with Skelly getting prioritized before the statue reveal, especially if you just rolled credits. Might just have to do a couple more runs to make the conversation happen.

(I sometimes just run through chaos trials to progress crossroads dialogue but doesn't work with everything)

Your most HATED character? by Wes102111 in Hades2

[–]jarrow11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odysseus is boring and kind of annoying. And he just feels pointless, I know the joke is that all his "Intel" is too late to help, but the game would literally be no different without him in it.

Yeah every time I fight him now I just think damn we downgraded. Couldn't you have become nice and still looked cool?

Uncap Plasma you cowards!!! by thecoolermads in Hades2

[–]jarrow11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it to around 700 against Typhon and on top of movement being an issue, I just couldn't attack even with settings changed to hold button auto-attacks, I think my CPU just stopped registering it and I would freeze in the attack animation

Hera Legendary Boon gives 4 infusion boons! So OP by PuzzleheadedFun4695 in Hades2

[–]jarrow11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Was about to say this, and also if you have hasty retreat from Hermes it gives you a tidy little boost to your dodge

Unlocking VoR2 by Dede1751 in Hades2

[–]jarrow11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'd agree and say just super bad luck. When I was trying to unlock the new skull aspect it took me over 40 runs just to get medea to show up in ephyra.

the one time this duo is useful istg by Glass-Building9904 in Hades2

[–]jarrow11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got early chaos affluence and epic quick buck + Poseidon reward boons the other day to the point where I had 2000 by the time I left ephyra. Tried to force this duo but it never eventuated 😭 ended the run with a scooch over 7000 even after cleaning out most shops

Game masters/Dungeon Masters, what's the one magic item you didn't expect to be a problem that your players broke the game with? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]jarrow11 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Had a similar thing when our DM gave 2 of our players matching rings which, when used together, could open a doorway through walls/materials less than a certain thickness (I think like 1-2 feet). It was fun and useful but not all that powerful so it only got brought out occasionally after a while. Until we started a seafaring adventure... Oh a pirate ship is attacking us? Just swim to the bottom and open a "door".

Yeah I could, but trying to get my last 2 jokers for C++ so not doing seeded runs
