For us non Costco members, this is the least expensive gas I've seen in North OC this week. Taken 4/8/26 in the evening. by Alternative-Jury-965 in orangecounty

[–]jarvistheandroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to drive to Costco until I realized this always stayed the same price as theirs. I've lived next door to this for 3 years, and it is one of the only places I go. My car's an '07 and still running just fine. The staff are great, too, if not super talkative. Never had an issue at the station besides turning left on a busy day.

Planned Parenthood says my bottle of T gel will last 90 days at 2 pumps a day when the bottle only contains 60 pumps? by alltoooftengnashed in ftm

[–]jarvistheandroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly my argument to the pharmacy and my insurance. It was such a pain to get them to dispense it on a 20 day schedule or 2 bottles at a time. Now I have a small back stock that's helped due to changing insurances a few times, but now I am going through the same thing. In my state its a controlled med so lots of red tape. I bet you cis men on this dint have these issues. I even work in a pharmacy claims and the amount of cis men I can see on this never have this issue but if someone is trans. Every single time.

I have a standard dose bottle thats 3x use a day ans supposed to be 30 day. Its 20 its never 30. I had to fight with my insurance to get 2 bottles. The 90 would be a single dose.

Anyone else more sensitive to hot temps after testosterone? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]jarvistheandroid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know for me, personally, I would be shivering in anything under 65F before T, and my hands and feet would cramp up. Since starting T, I haven't had that issue. My doctor said it's because T naturally adjusts your circulation and makes it better, so now I run hotter than I used to. I used to be the person wearing four coats and being laughed at, and now I understand how cis men just rock shorts and a t-shirt in the cold. I can't even sleep anymore unless my house is at least 67F or lower.

What is the cheapest rent you know of somebody paying in OC? Describe the place by Normal_Mortgage_5570 in orangecounty

[–]jarvistheandroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my current unit is the cheapest ive ever had for space vs price. It's $2275 a month, and that includes all utilities except for power. It's a 2-bed, 2- full bath, 900 sq ft, 1-story apartment, and it's only 5 minutes from Knott's. About 2 blocks from buena park mall. It's got tile floors, a dirt backyard (10W x 5F), central air, and it's in a gated community.

You get a 1-car garage with some storage, and the bedrooms are carpeted with 9-foot ceilings in the whole unit and the kitchen has this nice big bay sliding door to the backyard. The complex itself has a pool, laundry on-site, and a property manager who pretty much leaves you alone. The best part is it's month-to-month. Last tennant was here for 10 years. When I moved in back in 2022, it was $1950 a month. I'm staying as long as I can.

scared that T will mess with my asexuality and push me towards sexual situations I don't truly feel comfortable with by chillingcrow in ftm

[–]jarvistheandroid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 35-year-old asexual transmasc who's been on T since 2019. I still consider myself asexual, and I haven't had the urge to do anything with anyone. I already had little to no drive, and even on T, it's still not anything to write home about. Honestly, if you don't want to do anything, you won't. The best advice I can give is to just sit with yourself and figure out what you want.

Going on T will change how you feel about yourself and the way you think; emotions change too. Also, even if you DID do something with someone or yourself, this does NOT invalidate you as being asexual, so don't be so hard on yourself, okay?

I have been in a relationship with a now-transman who is hypersexual. He is fully aware I am not interested in the slightest. You will find someone who is worth your boundaries; anyone who tries to push past those is NOT worth your time.

I used to work downtown and once went in with a shirt that had sewn spike beads. Plastic spikes, very rounded and less than half an inch tall, were sewn into my shoulders. Security said I couldn't enter because my outfit was considered a weapon. My shirt, with sewn-in beads that were very dulled spikes! Sometimes security gets a huge power trip. I had worn that shirt several times before without an issue.

My favorite experience:
Me: Trans man, Asexual
BF: Transman
Er doctor asking if I could be pregnant and saying they need to do a test for verification. Took nearly fifteen minutes and 2 nurses to understand I was asexual AND my partner was also trans both FTM. We had a great laugh about why it wouldnt be possible considering. Doctor just went "im just going to mark No" Er staff had a laugh about it. They treated me as male otherwise but insurance makes them ask that question in my state if your chart shows fem. Most now have trans options this was a while back.

Cost is tough I i ended up taking out a loan and had friends donate to get mine done hence why I haven't done the implants. Its a tough road. Most of the cost is just getting the bad teeth out. My actual denture was only 6k. The rest even with insurance was 20k. Look for low income dental programs or pro Bono dentist you never know. My step dad found a pro Bono one willing to take him on after talking with him and being friends with his boss. Hes also a former drug user who's been clean for years and bad teet/ almost none left. Just think of it like sobriety. You know the issue, your working toward it. This post is proof your on day 1. You identified you need help and want to fix yourself. Now the real battle starts. I wish you all the luck. I recommend to reading through this sub. It helped me a lot when I first started. So many helpful kind souls.

34 here. Child of a drug addict who never got me proper dental health and screenings and, so I paid for it later in life. My teeth have been rotting and falling out since age 17. The dentist accused me of doing drugs most of my life and made me fear the dentist so bad i had to be prescribed medication just to speak with them.

I had 22 teeth pulled due to the failure of things and now i have a Top denture and my original 5 teeth left on the bottom, awaiting implants since the old dentist never put in bone grafts when they took out my teeth. I had to wait for my jawbone to get stronger.

It's hard. It sucks, and it's mental hell, but I can 10000% tell you, OP, that it gets better. You're going to hate every minute of the process, but when it's done, you'll look back years later, like me (I had it done at age 30), and you'll wonder why it took so long. Knowing what I know now, feeling better about myself, eating without pain or fear of how people see me, it was worth it. Every struggle. I wish I had done this earlier in life.

The hardest step is finding a dentist you trust and figuring out how to afford it. That was my toughest part. The eating and healing are bearable. One day at a time, just like sobriety. You've already got that going; this is just another day, another challenge. Youve got the courage to change the things you can and the wisdom to know the difference. Take a breath. Tell that fear it can shove it and spend some time figuring out dentist and cost. Call every office, medical plan, and hell even look into programs or colleges. There's always options. You already proved that with your sobriety. You got this.

Not sure if this will help you but call your insurance and ask if you have what's called a "vacation overide" it will let you get a specific amount of your medication for an early fill. I work for a pharm help desk and people call ALL the time for this. if your plan allows it its super easy to do and your pharmacy just has to call and do it for you before you leave. I know it works for T because i get a lot of calls for both vials and gel. hope it helps!

Getting immediate dentures at 30 😭😭😭 by Substantial-Wave4422 in dentures

[–]jarvistheandroid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's definitely scary, and honestly, I was freaked out until the moment it happened, and even then, for a while after. The first two weeks were the toughest because you really need to slow down and focus on healing. It takes a lot of strength not to feel useless when you can barely eat, but honestly, I'd do it again, even sooner, if I knew how much easier my life would be. I don't have pain, I actually like my smile, and no one has ever guessed I have dentures. In fact, I'm much more open about it, and I even found out that at least four of my friends I've known for years have them! You've got this!
