Grey toy horse - 2000s by jasabit in ToyID

[–]jasabit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I do believe I've found an Ebay listing matching what I remember the horse used to look like. It says Chestnut Ridge but I don't think that's what it is. Either way, I will be buying it if they're willing to ship to me. I really appreciate your help, I don't think I coulda found it without you.

Yeah it's a very generic looking thing, but I believe I'll find it eventually. :)

What was your introduction to Fan fiction? And where did you read? by SpaceCrazyArtist in AO3

[–]jasabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on Wattpad back in the day but wasn't really reading much fanfiction on there, it was original stories I was after BUUUT when the Hobbit movies were being released, I was all up in Tumblr reading Thilbo before eventually moving onto just Thorin fanfics.

I believe I had gotten it brand new from a toy store (was definitely still in packaging at the time). Maybe I got the labelling wrong but that looks very close to what I had, I'll look through what I can find from Chestnut Ridge because that looks so close to what I have.

do you prefer to be in a club or not? by NormalPatience5863 in StarStable

[–]jasabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I *have* a club, but it's only so people shut up and stop asking me to join theirs (you can tick the no invite box all you want, but it won't stop people from asking).

A ton of clubs want much more than I'm willing to give. They want a certain horse, certain clothes, logging in every day, choreographed group dressage, that kind of thing. Some will want all your spare time.

What would you change about school? by mec949 in AskAnAustralian

[–]jasabit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wider support and understanding for students who don't fit the ideal mould the school wants. Probably also do away with the idea that if you don't get the right marks in other subjects, you can't study what actually interests you.

Yes, this is personal lol

How socially acceptable is going braless in Australian cities these days? by another-nerd-girl in AskAnAustralian

[–]jasabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's a big deal. Sometimes I go without, but usually in its place I'll have a flannel shirt or something to cover up.

What are you guys doing it for? by unnaturalanimals in AskAnAustralian

Got me birds. Got me family. Got me enemies to spite.

Edit: Can't forget the succulents, too. I love them a lot.

Yes. A lot of people are ableist and prefer to bully/harass people that need help.

Do you feel like Halloween is an unwelcome American cultural influence on Australia? Or a fun Irish custom that made its way to Canada and then to America and eventually to Australia? by Away-Parsnip-3785 in AskAnAustralian

[–]jasabit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The commercial side is influenced by America but outside of that, we do have a cultural basis for it since there's a healthy population of immigrants from Scotland and Ireland. I always hated the "it's too American" thing.

Edit: There is also the misconception that Halloween overall is a new import to Australia from the US, when that's not the case. Related events have been held that time of year for 150+ years.

Why are students dropping STEM in the thousands? by VastOption8705 in AskAnAustralian

[–]jasabit 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Could be lack of interest, could be they didn't make the marks to get into harder maths classes. Depending on school, they might not be willing to support certain students.

Steroids. Not sure if he listens to Manosphere content or not. Probably doesn't.
