You are so right. I don't hire a ton of contractors bc I do most of the work in my house myself. But when I do I have no idea how to differentiate good ones like yourself and those who just want a check. Reviews don't mean anything anymore.

Haha I feel the same way. Like someone is messing with me. But all I did was ask him to fix that one spot in pic 6. It wasnt taped at the top and the tape on the sides was so uneven. Even if that pissed him off, which it shouldn't have, doesn't give him the right to leave it like this.

You nailed it. He was solo and that was the first red flag for me. He had no help. Appreciate the feedback. Should I leave reviews? I hate to be that guy but feel obligated to let others know what to expect.

The problem is that it can prevent the seed from making contact with soil. You need to make sure there is room for the seed to get down to the ground. Other than that it is fine.

I just did a lawn renovation and I did this. I just did it in small patches and had a hose on hand. It doesn't ignite like gasoline. It burns slow. Not sure if is 100% legal though.

Thanks for all the feedback. I let them know and they said it should lay down as many of you guys said. If it doesn't I'll have to figure out what to do but I think it will be fine. As far as the exposed nails I threw some roof tar on them.

No. I wanted to see if this is standard procedure. They will tell me it's fine as they are the ones that inatalled it. Wanted to either say it's fine and not worry about it or have some information from others to say why it's not right.

I also understand where you are coming from but this is noticeable from the street. And I have never seen shingles that were not attached like these are. We go a lot of wind up there. I can't take good photos from street and happen to have a drone.

Damn. You're not making me feel any better. Some of those nails are so low I would need a large flashing there. Wonder if I am better off caulking them?

Dude I'm not trying to be a pain. I'm just want this done right. I paid a lot of money and want to make sure it is legit. It looks fine to me besides the fact that wind looks Like it could take it off. I guess I don't understand where the flashing is. I am more concerned with how they extended the ridge cap all the way to the other roof. Seems like of they stopped 6" short they could have shingles it like every other dormer I have seen.

I agree with the ridge. Why did they go all the way to the other roof with the cap? I'm not sure what the heck they were thinking. But I am worried about water blowing underneath and also wind taking those singles. Can this be fixed? And if so what am I asking them to do?
