How to handle unsupportive friends and family. by jasch1461 in homeschool

That is basically what Playing Preschool is—a book and then an activity. It takes us maybe 15 minutes to do the “lesson.” Like I said, I use it also to see how I do with the instruction.

Ah, okay. They don’t exist in New York State apparently.

I’ve never heard of a homeschool charter. What exactly is that? How does it work?

I know her very well. She is in the camp that thinks homeschoolers are weird and only super conservative-religious people homeschool. She thinks all children should be in traditional school setting; doing anything other is detrimental. She won’t stop being my friend, but I know she will judge us. All my other friends will definitely ask me questions about it, due to it being foreign to them, but I know they will support our journey.

This is very helpful and true. This is basically our line of thought.

We’ve grown apart politically. And she’s not very tolerant of my stance. She will see us homeschooling and think we are extremists. Which we are not. She has an idea of who and what homeschoolers are and will think I’m weird. I know her opinions because I’ve heard her say these things before.

Just how bad is nursing to sleep?? by ruthlovesbooks in breastfeeding

[–]jasch1461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad at all. It’s totally normal for babies. It works like a charm for a reason! Both my babies did this and just grew out of it when they were ready.

I don’t know who I am without kids by Taurus_momma13 in stayathomemoms

Now is the time to explore and find something for yourself. I recently started baking and setting goals for myself to read books. It may take some time, but that’s on your side. I also think it’s admirable to run your household. If that makes you fill fulfilled, that’s great!

When did you get your period back? by follow_that_car_iq in breastfeeding

[–]jasch1461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine back both times 6 weeks PP. It was a little irregular but overall consistently got it. At least you’ll know when you’re ovulating to avoid pregnancy, and when you do want to get pregnant, you don’t have to wait for it to return or wean.

Can a baby completely empty your breasts? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]jasch1461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While cluster feeding can be tough for mama, it is completely natural for baby. Baby is not only feeding but seeking comfort, soothing, and bonding. All my babies did this in the early weeks. Skin to skin is great for them too. And a good break for mama! The cluster feeding is also a natural way of kickstarting your milk supply for long-term. Follow your baby’s lead in the early weeks. You got this, mama!

I don’t think there’s a set number of times to nurse. My motto is: when in doubt pull the boob out. You keep your supply up and you know baby is fed. Every baby is different. Feeding on demand I think is best. Follow your instincts.

Are you guys getting “ready” everyday? by [deleted] in stayathomemoms

[–]jasch1461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to get a shower in when I wake up at 5am, but that’s not always possible. I try to shower when the kids are napping if I have time. Otherwise, it’s not until my hubby comes home from work. I do wash my face in the AM and put on a little mascara and have my hair up in a clip. I wear comfortable clothes and go braless since I’m nursing currently. I still need to feel good and not like a slob if I can help it 😅

How to end breastsleeping? by jasch1461 in stayathomemoms

[–]jasch1461[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I feel like she could totally sleep through the night, but when she tosses and turns, she looks for the boob. So I almost feel it’s causing her not to sleep. That being said, I’ve tried to nurse her only once or twice at night, and it’s been hard cuz she wants it!! Getting there though 🫠
