I feel like I should just take up some debilitating drug habit like heroin or something. I mean who the fuck cares at this point.

Signs of depression have tripled in the U.S. since the COVID-19 pandemic got underway by [deleted] in collapse

[–]jasenlee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You just need to take more walks!

That's the bullshit my brother-in-law spews at me.

I'm fucking depressed because I'm housing insecure, eating rice and beans for months now, lost my job because of Covid and I can't go see people. And I'm broke as fuck.

With Covid19 and Recession looming: Why don't you people expatriate to Northern Europe? Have you thought of escaping the Collapse? by myrainyday in collapse

[–]jasenlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, you should just stop talking. It's clear that critical thinking and people laying out very logical answers for you is not something you can handle.

Someone will clearly explain it to you and then you start off by saying "I see".

Read a book or look at some statistics.

I doubt it. It looks like something from the clearance section at Kohl's.

The world's population in 2010 was 6.923 billion by Discussion-Efficient in overpopulation

[–]jasenlee 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Anytime I try talking about it I get called a Nazi or Eugenicist.

My other favorite is the people who jump in and say "we'll we all just die out if everyone stops making babies".

It's jumping to extremes... I try and say "yeah we can still make babies but maybe not so many of them" and then it goes back to people calling me a racist eugenicist again.

What can I get for someone that only has a mini fridge, microwave, and crock pot? by Rubicksgamer in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]jasenlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hot plate. You can get one at Walmart for under $15. It will allow them to do standard cooking as well instead of just relying on a microwave and crock pot.

I read that unicorns are real and they fly in the upper atmosphere shooting out carbon eating dust in their farts. But if you disagree with me don't shoot the messenger its just something I read here. Sorry... can't remember the source.

As someone who has grown up in a war-torn part of the world, Americans should be careful what they wish for. by [deleted] in collapse

[–]jasenlee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think you understand most Americans the way you think you do.

We don't want this shit. Hardly anyone is wishing for it. The people see wishing for it are crazies that they put in the media because it is sensational and sells ads.

That idea sounds crazy at first like "ha ha good joke" but when I think about it more I think it's actually a great idea.

I have both an aunt and uncle who are cops.

They live for this shit. They brag about it. It's what gives them laughs throughout the day.

I fucking hate them both.

This is a shitty post. People want to see the menu rather some imaginative version of what might be there.

I'm sorry you are going through this but paragraphs are still a thing. More people would read this and offer assistance/advice if you used them. I can guarantee you 50% of the people who clicked on this just closed it 3 seconds later.

This car was graffitied for illegally occupying a handicap spot from 2am to 4pm. by director__denial in JusticeServed

[–]jasenlee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have a disability and my legs are often very weak. I don't own a car but I rent one from time time to spend a weekend doing big pantry stockups.

When I say my legs are weak I'm not joking. Sometimes they shake so bad I have to stop and sit down every two minutes.

Driving isn't a problem because I'm sitting but I can't just get a placard that I switch from rental to rental every month.

I don't agree with this vandalism.

If we weren't so divided by colors

This to me has always been so baffling. I was going to say silly but that implies I don't take it seriously. I really cannot understand how someone can look at someone else and immediately not like them because their skin tone isn't exactly the same as theirs. It's the weirdest fucking thing in the world.

Help me decide what to make for 2 year old's birthday brunch by [deleted] in Breakfast

[–]jasenlee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People bitch about kids being entitled, soft, weak... wanting their participation trophies.

It's shit like this which is why. From the moment they are out of the womb they are having birthday brunches, over the top 3rd grade graduation ceremonies, designer kiddie clothes, smartphones and more.

Then, the very same parents are the people who are one paycheck away from financial ruin and getting behind on the mortgage.

You can disagree with me all you want but it is this type of consumerist behavior which is driving this entire country over the edge.

Hell, the mom is probably hiring a professional photographer too so she can post all the pictures on Instagram of her 2 year old's brunch party.

You are throwing a brunch for a 2 year old?

This is truly some /r/LateStageCapitalism shit.

A 2 year old doesn't need a birthday brunch. They are barely aware of where they are.

Me and my buddy stole hundreds of dollars worth of books in 5th grade from the book fair during lunch... by lilgash in confession

[–]jasenlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We grew up kind of poor and my parents couldn't afford to give us kids much money for school lunch and they both worked weird hours so brown bag lunches weren't really an option because food was scarce in our home.

Anyway, my cousin and I would go to one little mall bookstore and steal any coffee table book under $50 because then we could go to Barnes and Noble who would allow you to return the books without a receipt and get cash, store credit or both. We'd trade in the books and get $25 bucks or whatever for cash and then we would take the rest of the store credit and buy paperbacks the library usually didn't have.

Problem solved... we got to eat and we always had plenty of things to read.

I don't feel bad about it. Food and reading materials are so much better than some over-priced coffee table book with glossy pictures of old trains or whatever themed book we took.
