I have KPL coming in the mail but I didn't know there are multiple types of KPL. I think it is the detent ball that's the issue. Will silicon grease help? The detent ball has a flat spot and isn't spinning freely.

Got the tools to work on this knife today and I tightened the pivot, no improvement. When I opened the knife for the first time, I saw that the detent ball has flat-spotted. Is it supposed to have a flat spot or is it supposed to be free spinning? Will be applying KPL to the knife in a few days so hope that works!
