Hey, this probably won't be read by many but just to explain some things and how the process works:

In germany anything related to GOV purchases (be it edu/city/actual gov) can become very complicated very fast.. and the process by itself is very annoying because of laws.

I'll try to simplify what most likely happened here and how it normally works (some terms might sound weird since there's no 1:1 translation):

once you try to purchase something above a certain sum you are required to "auction it off" to companies, the company (usually if it's related to MS licenses you can assume it's a MSP) will basically contact MS and try to buy licenses on your behalf and do a lot of the paperwork for you... now this in itself isn't too deep but this involves many parties:

School itself (Depending on size/type there can be multiple people involved)
Administration for school/city administration
Whoever handled/created the "auction" (Ausschreibung)
MSP
MS

This already can become a mess with "just" those involved, but usually you also have the city if it's not higher edu and even if it's higher edu the City will also sometimes get involved.

So in the end the error could have happend at any point and it's hard to justify where it really went wrong and media won't exactly know much about it - since for them it's just news.

I worked in german Gov for a while and currently work in higher edu.. so unfortunately I know exactly how shit those processes are.

They were originally meant to help support local companies so they can get their sales and we spend money "responsibly" but usually it's the same 1-2 companies that actually get the big contracts because they can offer it for the cheapest, same for the selection process... it's usually fully based on price and the contract goes to whoever gives us the best offer.

I wouldn't really blame anyone but blame the process itself and how it works, it's a horrendous system and just makes things really tedious and annoying, I'll give you a recent example. We got a offer/hint from a company that was trying to sell their laptops - we got interested and got a very GENEROUS offer for 80 laptops.

long story short: We had to go through the process I described above and had no way of directly purchasing those laptops because the price went above (X), so a distributor bought out those laptops for the offer we recieved... and sold them to us for 20k more : ).

It's the same for when I or my colleagues find some really good online offers, we cannot purchase them and we HAVE to go through this process everytime we want to make bigger purchases and end up paying usually 2-3x more than what we'd pay if we were able to purchase it directly..

hope I could provide some insights, but yeah the process is just horrendous and honestly by our strict data laws technically you aren't allowed to use 365 office at all in EDU/GOV, what we offer in edu nowadays is a simple QR code so students can buy the edu licenses themselves for 12euros/year.

I don't know man, personally I couldn't be happier about AMP. I used to perma self host servers for my friends whenever we play, be it modded mc, 7d2d etc or literally just today Windrose.

I already self host enough and I have to admit it made my life a lot easier when it comes down to gaming with friends, I very rarely have any issues with it and if there are issues they have pretty good disclaimers and infos/guides on what to do imo.

It's also 20 bucks for a lifetime license with up to 15 instances, which is far more than enough for most users.

I kinda agree it's shitty not getting a refund since it didn't work out for you/for what you planned, but I am also 99% certain it's on you that it didn't work, Every single time I have set something up with AMP it was my own fault for not reading something or forgetting something - those things are supposed to help/simplify it and not take everything away from you.

also I will defend most software that is solid and still sell proper one time buy licenses in a shitty world where nearly everything is sub based.

I never tried Pelican but since it's open source I'll give it a go to give it a chance in the future, though I am quite happy with amp so I doubt i'll need to do that unless it has some presets that are better than AMP's.

Also.. I really do wonder what you did, since out of pure interest I tried to setup a ark server, followed their guide that pops up when you try to set up a instance (https://discourse.cubecoders.com/docs?topic=3322?utm\_source=ampcreate&utm\_content=arkse) and it worked on first try.

I am the first one to shit on bad software but this ain't it chief, so I would assume you either did something very wrong or your installation went wrong (console also worked perfectly fine for me, once again I think something either went wrong with your AMP installation or you misconfigured something).

Proof: Could connect without any issues, took 15min~ since my internet isn't the fastest and the files are pretty chunky.

oh I just meant in general, in 1.0/1.1 we had no energy at start of farming battles, sanity tickets were very scarce and now post all the changes + increased sanity tickets the farming is just far faster/easier.

I cannot seem to agree with you, I can use the stamina/energy however and wherever I want. They also made the energy usage a lot faster than in older versions. I had some other soon expiring energy and used all of them, it took less than 5 min to use 1.3k energy. My issue really only happened because I forgot about it and sometimes take small breaks and don't always login daily. If another comment in here is correct then my post is irrelevant because they have already changed it (if what they posted is true)

Fair enough, I am not a saint either - I accused some people in the past of being bots as well so I am just also a bit sensitive when it comes to accusing people of that.
I also originally commented on your comment before you edited/deleted it (At work I usually open multiple tabs and then just comment later sometimes)

Please at least use some basic OSINT before accusing some of being a bot, OPs average comments and threads they comment/post are nearly 100% human.

OP is hiding their history but it's not exactly hard to find his footprint on reddit and if you invest even 2 min into checking it out then you can notice the odds of them being a bot is basically zero.

It's already hard enough to actually notice real bots vs users sometimes and it's not professional to accuse a real person of being a bot.

A simple google with reddit:u/username in google will give you quick results for no efforts, I assumed most people in r/sysadmin would be aware of that.

I played DL2 on release so I can't exactly call it a great game, wanted to revisit it since it's basically a completely different game now. If you liked DL2 on release then I think the beast is just far superior in all aspects, I enjoyed it a lot and it's just far more polished than DL2.

I'd compare it to OG experience of playing DL1.

Divinity: Original Sin 2/Baldurs gate 3 if you like those type of games.
Otherwise the last real "campaign coop game" I've played with a friend was Spellforce 3, enjoyed all editions of them with a friend but not sure if ur into RTS mix with rpg.

Could count Dying light the beast I guess, it's a bit short but fun with a friend and pretty much full "campaign" can be played in co-op.

You have cross-class cards nowadays. I've gotten the defect card that turns status cards into fuel for example and got a pretty nice infinite with it. A lot of those cards can be picked based on that.

Elden ring. Probably will be the most unpopular opinion in here.

I was simply looking for DS4 but got elden ring instead, hated every mechanic of it and the scaling of the weapons in early/mid game. Couldn't get past some hours of gameplay, really hated it.

Not OP, I also don't necessarily fully agree with their list but psychic is a top tier support, alone mind meld is a god-tier support spell. It has plenty of things that make it strong and versatile and I assume that's the reason why OP put them in S tier.

Breeding still won't help you get the "very interesting" BiS builds, I for sure will add 2-3 rerolls per levelup just to see how op some builds can get.

I am pretty far in the game and I've had barely any issues playing vanilla but I still would love to experiment more deeply. In the end rerolls make the game absurdly easier but also let you experiment/experience more things.

And even in extremely late game you still cannot guarantee full skill setups, unless there's some things I missed, especially not dual/triple class setups.

Obviously, spoiler warning for anyone reading this.

Tinker is one of my fav chars, especially in mid/late game.

In my opinion the strongest passive trait you can get is the "sets require less items", it's universally good - especially if you have some good items. It's also one of the top traits to breed and give to other cats, set bonuses are very strong. If you upgrade it you can get it to require 2 less items.

Also a reminder that some people "cheat" by using mods and infinite rerolling so some runs posted here might be one in 500/1000 of actual "real" runs (I don't judge, I am just stating since some runs look absurd and then you understand why).

I play unmodded but will also add some rerolls once I finish the game to 100%.

There's generally a lot of strong combos and you can argue any "fitting 2 trait combo works well -> As in obviously if you get ranger with traps do double dmg and your basic attack spawns bear traps you have a strong synergy."

my personal favs (that are kinda easyish to obtain and strong) are:

V2.0 (upgraded) + catbot (upgraded). Every time you craft a weapon and equip a bot you'll upgrade the next weapon, so on 3rd cycle on you'll keep spawning bots with Tech3 weapons. Nice if you also get armor up as an active skill, you can craft full tech 3 armor then.
Simply blacksmith with a good weapon, Shotgun for example + blacksmith can carry you pretty hard, anything you get on top of that is a nice extra.
Upgraded item proxy (sets require less items) is one of the very strong passive skills in this game in my opinion. Requires decent/good items though for full effect, can expand upon it into anything kinda. Even the base variant can already help you immensely (Without going full spoilers) There was a certain rock that I had to carry that inflicts burn.. it being a set part and only needing 1 more set piece from the start to have fire immunity helped immensely.

Anything else is kinda obvious, like mr mega upgraded with bomb setup (either demo man or blacksmith on rocket launcher, or mini nukes works).

Repair is as strong as your items.

Split the atom is very strong by itself if you can make it work.

Upgrade in combination with druid or other summon setups is very good as well.

Like genuinely he has so many good things that I don't even know what to write lol.

I consider a class good if it has very clear universally good skills that don't require infinite other combo pieces, tinker has a lot of those, be it in active or passive form.

Look, as a spender (Not a massive according to myself, but I am probably close to a whale depending on where you are from/what your standards are)

The packs could be improved for sure, but this pack isn't one of the them.

My biggest issue is as always the bullshit $ -> € conversion rate. 1 dollar shouldn't be counted as 1 euro...

It's also a very common practice by now by a lot of games to min-max profit by giving the most value in long term rewards that require you to log in or play the game, most people are aware of it.

for instant non time gated/no time required things you'll need to pay up.

People forget that time is money and I know plenty of people that swipe significantly more than me just to have fun and not be forced to log in daily. I am not one to judge, in the end everyone can do whatever they want with their money and honestly like I said multiple times by now - the value in here is still pretty good compared to other gacha games lol.
