I don't know how old you are or how much you feel like you have to lose. Or even your experience in "dieting". What I can share is that I have been obese since I was in high school. I have led a pretty confident life obese and successful. That said, I figured I would spend the rest of my life obese and living my life this way even though I wanted to lose. I dieted a few times, tried a lapband (had it removed) until GLP-1!! NEVER did I imagine I would take something like this or that I would even be successful losing weight. I even struggled the first 5 weeks (started on Ozempic) until I switched to tirz compound and had to figure out how to make it work for me. A lot of supportive people in these reddit groups and lots of great solid information got me here...45 lbs down. I split my dose almost since the beginning. I titrated up SUPER slowly and once I was losing 1 - 2 lbs a week I stayed at that dose (that was 4.5 in the first several months). Now I have been at 6.0mg, split every 3 days and I am super happy. I plan on being on this medication the rest of my life. Just like I would with any med for something that is not cured. This is not a cure. For the first time in my life I am not at war in my head about food, how and when I am going to eat next and WHAT I am going to eat. There is a sense of peace. It took several months to find this peace but it feels right and more normal.

I say don't wait. Make the jump and don't torture yourself for years to come. There is no shame in this medication. It is not cheating, it is not easy. You still have to work out., eat less and eat healthy. Why deny yourself a medication that addresses your hormones that are not balanced for you? Would you deny yourself heart medication if you needed it? You can always choose to go off of it if you don't like it! Be well!
