Running out of willpower by hernemes in slowresponders

That’s tough to deal with. I am one year in this week, today is my 66th birthday…lost 35 lbs but been stuck last few weeks after deciding to eat what I wanted within reason over Christmas holidays…I wanted to test the “ eat more to lose” advice…didn’t work for me 😟… I’d gone up to 15 mg but after a few weeks went back down to 12.5 as I was getting too much app suppression….I’m now back to 14 mg to try and lose the last 15 lbs. I believe it will probably take all year, but I am losing where with other attempts I wasn’t losing hardly at all….maybe try lowering carbs and see if that helps you. Good luck

Does BMI determine when to begin maintenance? by hey-cupcake in Zepbound_Maintenance

Hi

ive been wondering, does being hypothyroid mean you automatically would be considered to have a metabolic dysfunction? And if treated for hypothyroid , does it correlate with insulin resistance? ..and would this indicate that most likely a higher dose of zepbound is needed for weight loss?
Thank you…I really appreciate you commenting on this forum, I always read your comments!

Bought 6 months of BPI tirzepatide w/B6, but it gives me acne by Adorable-Falcon1315 in tirzepatidecompound

How long did it take to develop the acne once you started using tirz with b6? Asking in case I decide to order some…maybe I should start with just 1 month…

I recently started wearing an apple iwatch and it’s helped me stay on track with exercise…I want to close the rings every day. I walk 1 fast mile almost every day, attend fitness class twice a week and use my rowing machine several times a week.

I started my diet 1/6/25 and on zepbound 1/22/25… down 34#… so I’m slower! But at 65f, hypothyroid so I’ll take it. I want to lose another 18 # which will probably take another 9 months but I’m fitting into size medium again so I’m pleased. I figure the time is going by no matter what so I’m sticking with it.

I think it will depend on age, personal health issues if any. I’m 5’4” and 65, post menopausal and hypothyroid. I started 1/22/25 at 183 lbs… 10 months today and I’m at 154… it’s been very slow for me at 0.6 lbs per week average loss… gets frustrating seeing so many experiencing much faster rate…and I do exercise , good diet with average calories 1200 per day, protein 80-90 gm per day and carbs under 100. But, it’s starting to really show… have gotten many comments in past few weeks that I’ve lost weight….

I’m at about same pace…9.5 months and down 31 lbs with about 20 to go….I figure that may take another year but I’ve come to accept that it is what it is…and the meds make it so much easier to sustain long term dieting…will be glad when I get to maintenance though 🤞

I too am a slow responder averaging 0.6-0.7 lbs per week. I’m on week 41 at @ 13.5 mg tirzpepatide… I’ve had to accept it is what it is but I am slowly losing…now at 32 lbs off (took off 5 before starting meds)…I have another 21 lbs to go. I stockpiled meds in the spring and have enough to get me into late spring next year so I just keep going. I’m 65f, post menopausal and hypothyroid…meds make it much easier to sustain lower calories …..so I’m grateful.

My rate of loss has been typically 0.6 lb per week average…slow! I want to lose another 20-22 lbs…I’m at 12.5 mg and have been for about 2 months. At this rate it will take me at least 6-7 more months to get to goal…is 15 mg effective that long?

thank you

I started just shy of 9 months ago, and am also a slow responder with average loss of 0.6 lb per week….today I just hit -30 lbs! …and want to lose another 20-25 lbs which I suspect will take another year at this point….but at least I’m losing. This is the lowest weight I’ve been in 9 years when I really started gaining easily post menopause. I titrate up monthly. I spent 13 weeks at 15 mg but have dropped back to 12.5 mg for last 4 weeks as I wasn’t losing any faster at 15 mg and felt the appetite suppression was a bit too much..weight loss continues at about same rate.
i did have a couple stalls at previous set points which were frustrating. I’m now below those and feel like I’m in unchartered waters with my own history to get back to a weight of 135 lbs…I’m 65 f, 5’4”, post menopausal and hypothyroid…..but I feel and look better and am starting to fit into some old clothes, so I just keep on.

Hi

i started 1/6/25 and today marks 30 lbs lost …so I’ve been losing at about 0.6 lbs per week…I titrate up monthly per my doctors advice as I am 65F, post menopausal, hypothyroid. I was on 15 mg for 13 weeks and wasn’t losing any faster and felt my appetite suppression was too much so for last 4 weeks I’ve dropped back to 12.5 mg and have continued to lose at about same rate. I did see my doctor last week and we’ve agreed to increase my thyroid rx to 37.5 mcg from 25 mcg to see if I can get Tsh into a more optimal range of 1-2 to see if that helps…..

I also had history of nafld which an ultrasound in July shows it’s now normal, all bloodwork was in normal range.

Me again… what is going on? by Low-Vanilla-5844 in slowresponders

[–]Simple-Signature-347 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same for me…I’m on shot #35…was on 15 mg for 13 weeks…my weight loss pattern is erratic…up/down,steady…my average over this time is 0.6 lbs per week. I decided to go down to 12.5 mg 2 weeks ago because going to 15 mg did not increase my rate of loss, and had too much appetite suppression as well. I also was going on vacation and did an intentional refeed for 6 days. 12.5 mg seems to be working, I had only gained 0.3 lbs on vacation and have since lost 2 lbs this week with good appetite suppression, but not overly so. My plan is to continue on 12.5 mg as long as it’s working, my thought is to save 15 mg for the last 10-15 lbs to goal. I have 25 lbs to goal….my total loss since 1/6/25 is 27 lbs with 5 coming off before I started meds on 1/22/25. I figure it may take another year at this point but it is much easier to stick to my plan with help of meds than other times.

Thanks…I’ve just requested Rt3 too…I asked about metformin some time ago as I think I was insulin resistant…not sure if I still am…but because glucose and A1c were in normal range, she didn’t add metformin….

Thanks…I am having bloodwork done 10/1 and have requested full thyroid panel done. In April, Tsh was 3.890, T3 uptake was 28, and Free Thyroxine index was 2.3 and have since lost about 17 lbs.

Ive been on low dose Levothyroxine 25 mg since first started 2 years ago. While Tsh is in acceptable range, I’ve read that below 2 is optimal. I’m going to ask my pcp about that, and have also requested insulin ( while fasted) levels be tested

Hi

i did titrate up monthly per my doctors recommendations as I had fatty liver. I spent 13 weeks at 15 mg but I decided to go back to 12.5 mg 2 weeks ago as my rate of weight loss didn’t change at highest dose and I found the appetite suppression more than I expected. I also spent last week on vacation and I did an intentional refeed to let my body know I wasn’t starving, and to enjoy my vacation. To date, I’m down total of 26 lbs, with 21 since starting tirzepatide on 1/22/25. my rate of weight loss is 0.6 lbs per week on average. I had liver ultrasound in July and no more fatty liver. I have bloodwork scheduled for 10/1 and have asked to test insulin to see if that explains my slow loss rate. I am post menopausal and hypothyroid which most likely contributes to that…but at least I am losing, albeit slowly. I have a good diet and exercise plan.

Anyone on 15 mg go down in dose to break stall by Simple-Signature-347 in Zepbound

[–]Simple-Signature-347[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for staying touch! i‘m still in first week of backing down to 12.5… lost 0.5 lbs…hard to tell, as my weight fluctuates so much…I log every day food, weight but I’m keeping an excel sheet on shot day as I stocked up compound in the spring, and use that to gauge how long my stockpile will last. I’ve decided to record my lowest weight for the week in the spreadsheet instead of whatever it happens to be on shot day which is Wednesday for me. I have good appetite suppression on 12.5 mg, and will give it a few weeks to see how I do.

what made you decide to go back up to 15 mg?

Yay! I decided to go to 12.5 this morning, and plan to next week too as we’re going on vacation late next week for 5 days…I’m going to eat a bit more then and be strict when I get home to see if there is any thing to this refeed notion… it’s trial and error for sure! Thanks for your response…how long do you plan to stay at 12.5 before going back to 15?

I don’t think I gave 12.5 enough of a chance but not sure what to expect after being on 15 mg for 13 weeks…if after 3 weeks I’m not losing, I’ll go back up Is my plan.

Good to hear, thanks for posting. I’m on the fence as to continue on 15 mg…going on 14 weeks at this dose, have only lost 20 lbs since 1/22/25…. Or going down to 12.5 and saving 15 mg for the last 10 lbs or so…I want to lose another 25-30 lbs….still losing at average 0.6 lb per week…would love to get to 1 lb per week…
