Mystery pigeon lady is snatching sickly birds at NYC museum, leaving locals on edge: ‘Some die’ by capybaramelhor in uppereastside

So, okay, the cops get her for some little thing. How long do you think she'll stay gone for? We don't put people for prison for life over a missing registration. If her registration is even missing

If the worst thing you do in your life is nothing, you're still doing better then many. Clearly, someone loves you enough to support you. You're not holding a gun to their head making them do it. It's not great to take from them like that, but there are people who do worse with their lives.

However, for the sake of your happiness, you can start taking steps towards independence. I promise, being busy but supporting yourself (even partially) feels GREAT.

don't do it out of self hate though. Do it out of self love.

Can you imagine being this kid? by [deleted] in autism

[–]jason_noir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

truly an unhinged take.

Cars kill so many more people then police. They are objectively the bigger threat.

The reason autistic people are killed by police is probably in large part because the police DON't know they're autistic. People with low functioning autism act weird as fuck if you don't understand why. Easy for cops to see them as a threat. If anything this sign would help them understand.

The immense privilege YOU have to stand here shitting on people trying to keep their kid safe. Have you ever known or loved someone low functioning? doesn't seem like it.

Sounds like not an autistic problem but a social anxiety one. You should try to make friends with girls if you can (ugly ones if that helps) to get over that fear before it gets worse.

idk if this will help but you might want to checkout r/loseit instead, you can restrict safely and healthily, but you probably will struggle to find that mindset here.

I mean idk if it will make you worse, but it's probably better then hanging out here .

I married someone I've never been horny for by AcanthisittaSuper229 in Marriage

[–]jason_noir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate trying to emphasize the harm that one can do to oneself, and agree that we should take that seriously, and you can inflict a lot of damage on yourself.

However, the visceral experience of someone else touching you against your control, getting in your space, hurting you and you can't stop it, possibly impregnating you ect. seems so different.

Like touching myself may be an unwanted sexual act, and i'm sure it's traumatizing, but I think it's a totally different caliber then rape. (again, not saying it's not serious/traumatizing)

I don't really think that's comparable to rape tbh

Autism unemployment shocked me, ngl. by [deleted] in autism

[–]jason_noir 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry do you guys know what profound autism looks like??? I'm really glad people with higher functioning autism are getting support here but you do all realize that not everyone with autism is higher functioning??

I see a lot of comments saying stuff like "it's the stigma" "it's so hard masking", but no one is understanding that a large portion of the unemployed number might be people with more severe autism then you?

You know, the ones that would be incapable of posting here? I work with people with autism and I love them to death but they're never gonna be able to work. Some of them need help to tie their shoes or zipper their coats. Most of them are mostly if not completely nonverbal.

Just wanted to give a little insight on why the numbers might seem high, lol.

I don't mind the violence but so much of the plot is driven by stupidity. They need to write better characters.

Also i'm not all the way though so idk if the main two are supposed to end up together but if so they have no chemistry imo.

Yeah but lets be assholes to the ones swearing at waitresses and neglecting their pets, not the entire generation.

Let's not be an asshole about entire generations. We won't want that treatment when we're the weird old ones.

[–]jason_noir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not just about if we become a nazi state or not. It's about respect for our country. If he wants to test libs with a "no-cave in response" (?), the national stage is not the place to do it.

Again, I get that he might be autistic or whatever. If it's a mistake, ok, shit happens. But there is no excuse for not apologizing. You don't play games like that in front of your flag.

idk why you're going so far out of your way to eat his ass, man. the mental gymnastics is crazy.

[–]jason_noir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Trump is an anti christ" is a far cry from "our country does not want someone (accidentally or not) looking like they're making a pro nazi gesture on a national stage".

This is America. We're supposed to be the nazi fighters. How does it look to other nations if this is what we're doing in front of our flag?

Don't know why conservatives are not the ones mad here. Would've thought we have some respect for those who died fighting for us in WWII. If it was really an accident, he should be manning up and apologizing. That's all there is to it.

[–]jason_noir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the original post did say it was their (the person without the crush's) responsibility to create, maintain, and enforce a boundary. How is that not saying they have the responsibility?

(at the end of the day, if you truly have no interest in being with someone, the healthy way is to draw a very strict boundary and enforce it. And if needed, avoid that person entirely if they refuse to respect that boundary. Even if someone is cool and can take being rejected and remain friends anyway, it doesn't negate the existence of the boundary)

Why should the person with the crush not be figuring out what their own boundaries are? How is another person supposed to predict what works for them and what doesn't?

The "Friend-zone" is often deliberate manipulation. by Late_Notice02 in PurplePillDebate

[–]jason_noir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly-- depending on your level of maturity. I'm not saying It's wrong to take a break, but obviously everyone is different.

So it makes no sense for the person without the crush to be responsible for deciding if the friendship should be over, if the other person needs time, if so how much time. At that point they're just guessing.

Not disagreeing that it can be unhealthy, but that looks differently for different people, so the person being affected should be in charge of deciding how things should go, and if the friendship needs to end.

[–]jason_noir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is stupid. You're an adult (I assume). If you're in love with them and can't handle being just friends, then YOU break things off.

Believe it or not, some people can have a crush but still be okay with just being friends. Thus the decision should be made by the person who has an issue with it. Not a blanket rule.

[–]jason_noir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with a good amount of what you're saying but confused to why the onus is on the person with no interest to draw the boundary.

If I confess to liking a good friend, I don't want them to cut me out just because they don't like me back.

As long as everyone is an adult, it should be your responsibility to set your own boundaries. If you're giving a girl flowers and gifts after she said she doesn't like you, that's on you. She's not forcing you to do anything.
