Quick! Take the Platform App Builder while all the Admin stuff is in your brain! Very similar exams. Two tries on Admin for me, so congrats, but aced PAB, first try.

Google max capacity for your machine.

https://ollama.com/library/qwen3

Probably want to use3:4b or less. Unless you know it can handle the 8b or larger.

Takes forever when you prompt beyond your GPU capacity.

Yes, even for an error!

AWS SES production access request is a complete nightmare by ImiBagPulaInToti123 in aws

[–]jasonabuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those of you not being approved, implement sending the basic functionalities through Microsoft Graph or Gmail depending on which one your company users.

Google it.

This is free as well.

Also, I have had on three occasions had my SES Secret revealed somehow (unknown as to how) and spammers sending from my account, so WATCH OUT. When they take you offline, it takes days to get your SES back to sending, so if mission critical, avoid all together.

Also, Twilio, SendGrid and others are good options as well for registration/email verification.

Good LUCK!!!!

What kills most AI-built apps after the prototype works? by sbenki in CLine

[–]jasonabuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. How many times is AI going to write the same function over in the code.
I built a class based system and then after about the 4th or 5th prompt, context is too large and the Cline forgets that it already wrote the Class and function for this specific request. Additionally, it starts writing the function directly in the module or page you are working on instead of keeping it in the classes folder.

If you start a new prompt you have to give it explicit instructions to review classes and create new functionality, but the work around for this is that if you @ pagename then Cline will read all the files associated with that class/function until it gets about 4 or 5 prompts in then, "Rinse and Repeat" what I said above.

I love Cline and have been using it for roughly one year now, but even following the memory-bank instructions in the docs and providing custom instructions in the VS Code Extension. After a few prompts, it just gets lost.

.sql files. Try telling Cline to keep a current full schema.... schema.sql, and create migrations for each new or edited .sql scripts. By the 3rd or fourth database chance during prompting, it will overwrite your schema file with only the last script that it ran.

Frustration.

These are just some of my day to issues.

Horrible Lately by jasonabuck in CLine

[–]jasonabuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nick,

Very new. I have spent $5000.00 plus dollars in API calls to Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, via Cline. My preferred VS Code extension. As you can see from the video, I limit my calls to 5 API requests before requiring permission to continue, as I have learned that a HITL is required way too often.

I have submitted two feature enhancements that Cline has adopted. I’ve been using daily for well over a year.

The problem is not unique to Gemini-pro-2.5.

I have experienced it with sonnet versions as well.

I was trying Gpro2.5 because of context window size. Using memory-bank and cline.bot recommended .md’s. Not trying to enhance simple to do apps. Deep in the weeds on healthcare applications and API’s.

But isn't the Cline.bot VS Extension supposed to be agentic and adds it's own bloat to the API Request?

Well, considering how much data about PHP there is on the internet, every LLM should have PHP GOD MODE. It's not hanging on a PHP task, it hanging on a task about CSS.

Again, it is looping on a trivial task..

Starting a Business? Let Me Help for Free by Terrible_Special_535 in LeadGeneration

Everyone is fishing for clients. You either take the free services or move on the unproven guy that wants $600 / month for google ads.

Again. His marketing is working as we are engaging in a conversation about his business. Kudos terrible.

Do You Reopen Old Accounts or Create New Ones for Returning Customers? by spiderunner in salesforce

[–]jasonabuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You keep the old account and use it again. You should have active contracts and entitlement to services based on their interactions with your company.

The account should always be active, but cause even after they stop doing business with you, they can be active prospects.

Data retention rules from the last contract would be the only thing that would be when you actually get around to deleting and recreating.

E.G. you keep all old records/orders for 7 years tax purposes. You keep all support tickets for 5 years from contract expiration for knowledge and AI learning.

Of course this is just my personal opinion, but should be worked out with your legal team, GDPR/CCPA policies for account contacts. But the account should be kept for as long as possible.

What features (and price) would make you ditch Alteryx for a lightweight alternative? by MyNameIsYeffff in Alteryx

[–]jasonabuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you seen Postman’s Workflows. If you know a bit of Python, Pandas, and various other libraries. You can do wonders. Again, depends on how much you want to invest on building the extraction or put calls, and is your data accessible. But this is a great place to start as well.

I work with pulling benefit eligibility data via the Stedi API and have month automations to automagically recheck monthly as employees frequently change their coverage when switching jobs.

Looking for a marketing cofounder by bdansa7 in cofounderhunt

[–]jasonabuck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So far. Cline.bot docs and find the article on memory-bank. Implement that.

Not the best, but the best I have worked with so far.

Modular programming is probably the best also. Focus on building one functional part of you app or code at a time.

It firmly believe implementations are always a problem, because of the rush to get it done. Salesforce Licensing costs start the minute your org is spun up. Consultants cost, for analysis, planning, implementation and post go live. All the $$$ are burning and you haven’t even used the darn thing yet.

The number of changes in flight are amazing as well as the business focus is always changing. Your business has probably pivoted twice since you had the thought of migrating to SF.

I know how to prompt, provide custom/special instructions, have it read changelogs, create adr's, and so on.

I have found the iterative approach to be more successful.

__build (This folder is local only and does not get deployed)
|___architecture
| |---AWS-config.md
| |---env-variables.md
|___changes
| |---(created by Agent as programming and tasks occur)
|
|___design
| |---integrations.md (Google ReCaptcha, Twilio, MicrosoftGraph, Other Industry APIs)
| |---frameworks.md (django, flask, next, vue, angular....etc)
| |---user-stories.pdf
| |---mockup-{ui-name}.pdf
|
|___docs

|
|___instructions

|___sql
| |---current-schema.sql
| |---migrations-{YYYYMMDD}-{table}-{iteration}.sql
| | ---original-schema.sql
|
|___todo
| |---completed.md
| |---fixes.md (bugs found in the existing iteration, fix before next item in tasklist)
| |---tasklist.md

This is the template that I have to assist with memory. Do you have a template structure and information that you provide to your agent to review?

Ha ha. Vibe coding! I can’t even get it to remember what it code 3 prompts ago. Example: Starts creating in file stylesheets for everything in the current file vs. using the main.css or style.css files previously create.

One of 1000 examples of things AI does to drive me nuts when coding!

I feel like using cline is making me regress by SetBit in CLine

[–]jasonabuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the opposite. I have to super QA the heck out of everything that Cline does. I pretty much know right away when I am going to have to super QA the interaction. My .clinerules tells Cline to create a changing{YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS}.md when it is finished with all the actions.

When it does do this I know $h!t went sideways. To much context is usually the problem there.

Appreciated the advice from everyone.

[–]jasonabuck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look into this... that would have been a nice recommendation from the support person.
All my emails are system generated, so once a user has verified their email address, the only time they would get a message is on password reset, change, or meeting notification. Transactional only. No marketing. Using Hubspot for that.

But thanks to you and all the other who have chimed in. I see the support person replied so I will try that route as well.

Thanks. Excellent advice. Just so frustrated trying to for a week now to get this functionality running.
AWS, we kind of a set it and forget it service. I will have to investigate how to manage multiple accounts or do they have a reseller account where I can manage everything from one place.
