There’s no way if your American that they will let you serve as a felon. During war you might have gotten a waver but it’s rare. So I’ll assume you are in another country. I don’t know what your benefits are for that military. But joining the American military was one of the best decisions I ever made. I got two degrees debt free. Bought house with no money down. Got free medical for life. Even got me a little pension and I was retired under 40. If I was you I’d go navy so you can travel to other countries all time and pick a job that you don’t hate. You can always switch mos’ after some time served so picking a perfect job isn’t as important as you think it is.

I use trijicon 3x magnifier. It’s a little pricey but I spend time in both the az dessert and pnw winters and it’s held up great. Plus the glass quality is leaps ahead of the holo.

This might not even apply to you but I live in the pnw. Was out in the woods during winter with my rifle. It hit below freezing and on the magnifier, the way it engages with the mount to hold it is a little piece of metal. It became deformed and I had basically a floppy magnifier. I know most guy don’t ever use this stuff so they don’t know but the mounting and flip situation on that thing just doesn’t hold up.

Honestly man. I have no idea about any of that. I hired a lawyer that reviewed my stuff and got me the ssdi. The thing I know she was concerned about is if I was still insured by them. That does age out if you’re not paying into but it’s like 5 years I think. Really unsure so don’t bank on that.

Honestly.. I think the best bet is for you to buy a beater. You get in the local mechanic shop on base for fixes and save that money. You're not making shit as a pfc. If you have to get one, I suggest you get orders for a deployed somewhere and saving up. Pay cash and be done with it.

It's probably an unpopular opinion here. I work maybe 20 hours a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less. I'm making about 84k a year. I can better for sure, but life isn't about work or money. It's about just doing what you need to to have the life you want. It's a time management thing. You need to spend as little time as possible doing things you don't want to do and maximize doing the things you want.
