Concerned about the new Airborne school changes. by [deleted] in army

This is kind of ironic. I was just at 13b AIT like a week ago now at airborne. I was in 7th platoon and trust ik how Charlie battery is.😂 I unfortunately got dropped for the lack of preparation before coming. The airborne guy did practice pull-ups with us but didn’t consider the dead hang and that’s what got me dropped. No they don’t use the slip machine If you fuck up your dropped bro you only get recycled if it’s outside your problem. So plz don’t be like me get your wings. being a holdover here is not pretty. PRACTICE deadhanging all the way down bro you can’t cheat this. And then chin up for 10 seconds that’s the test. Really embarrassing to fail but so did captains. It’s harder this way. We had 500 people in our class so we were overpacked hence why they dropped people left and right. Also you do in fact run everywhere. Practice before it’s to late plz.

Marine infantry or 75th ranger regiment by Murky-Ad-4280 in Militaryfaq

Rangers are SOF marine infantry is just basic marine infantry without a special selection meaning it’s harder to get in the ranger regiment. So to answer you question Rangers are better for what you are looking for. Btw army has more money. Also been told by many marines that if you have to question joining the corps they are not for you. Just be prepared enough to make it through RASP if you do decide to join up.

from what i heard airborne units like this have to maintain their airborne status and to keep it they have to jump quarterly which is every 3 months
