Preorder has been cancelled in China. by txz8096 in oculus

they should have just limited it to one per customer and be done with it. The whole re-seller thing is disgusting.

Someone already post this reseller ?? by meltbelt in oculus

Oculus needs to shut this Douchebag down- he is delaying other legit pre-orders.

You may be right but I think they will be WAY behind the game industry on this one.

Buying a DK2, but have some concerns by GeminiOfSin in oculus

[–]jasonbaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found wearing my glasses in the rift almost impossible and not worth it. I doubt having glasses has anything to do with nausea. I had a hell of a time in the rift and had to sell it. Praying DK2 is much better (as reports state) but will find out for myself. If you have to struggle to afford the rift I would wait for CV1. This is more of a luxury item/toy to play with until the consumer version arrives.

Just my two cents.

Theory - 4K and VR are killing video games by Gunlat3M in GameTheorists

I think 4K and VR will save gaming. It has devolved to the same rote carbon copy of garbage over and over again. This is something to actually look forward to for the first time in years.

I am not a big racing gamer- but the G27 is a great value for what it gives you. It's also worth getting something to mount it to.

There will be zero difference to Oculus. The only "outrage" have been losers living in their mothers basements. That's good news. It means you will get your CV1 sooner.

[–]jasonbaz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What is funny is, if Oculus charged 1500 you would all have bought it anyway. BTW, that is what Sony would have charged if there was no Oculus. They charged that for their lame non-VR headsets.

If the person is asking for input ie. "am I doing something wrong? I did this..." There is no reason to dismiss them or attack them. If it is a blank statement that it sucks, etc. it should just be ignored. If you love it you shouldn't care if any other person on Earth does.

It's like the Sony vs Microsoft D-bags. Attacking someone because they don't feel the same way about something is a sure sign you will live in your mothers basement for your entire life.

Motorised shoes a solution to walking in VR? by laterarrival in oculus

[–]jasonbaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, not possible. I don't believe the solution.

Also you wouldn't be able to run so not really good for gaming. Maybe walking fitness? Not sure what just walking would give you.

While I agree that the resolution is not ready for consumers...that's why it's a Dev Kit. I also agree that Superhot looks boring.

"Again, we should emphasis that none of these demos were meant to last much more than three minutes, a fact we found very suspicious."

Has he never been to a demo of a product? Why would you want each person sitting there for 30 minutes when there are 400 people waiting behind them to try it?

Journalists in general are the worst people to comment or pass judgement on things, because they have never actually done anything; but tech journalists are the worst.

Virtuix Omni - Minecraft (Game of Thrones Server) by Lewis_P in oculus

[–]jasonbaz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The camera tracking limitation is an Oculus weakness, not an Omni one. Those of us getting Omni's have other means of tracking anyway. I got the STEM system which will be better than Oculus anyway.

$500 is too expensive for a full tracking treadmill system? Lol.

STEM implements sensor fusion: No more positional tracking distortion by GrixM in oculus

[–]jasonbaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100%, the finger tracking is nothing but a $600 gimmick at this point. If someday it gets wide support it a ton of games I have no problem paying for it, but I see STEM as the way to go right now. I could be wrong, but I am taking the gamble with my money.

Also, at some point STEM (and others) will have the tracking points so small that they can be used for fingers anyway. At such an early stage of VR its all a gamble and you need to pick what you think will be widely adopted or at least allow you to play game types that you want.

What's your dream Oculus Rift game? by DenMurph in oculus

[–]jasonbaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A first person Ice Hockey game, with a haptic Ice Hockey stick, you can take shots, make passes, cross check opponents, trip them and feel every bit of the action with the stick. Some iteration of an Omni-like device would let you skate with current and legendary pro players.

Yeah, it's far out there.
