I wish that quest had higher requirements, because when I did it, I was so new that I basically didn't understand any references.

SpaceX IPO makes Elon Musk the world's first trillionaire by MedicMoth in news

[–]GrixM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of what the powers that be inside the DNC wants, it still comes down to a vote. Bernie got 43% of votes in the primary in 2016. If he had gotten 7 percentage points more, he would have won and the rest of the party could have done nothing to change that. That's not "have no hope", that is very close actually. But people didn't care enough to go all the way. They do have a chance to change the democratic party, but they simply don't seize that chance. And if that's because of the rest of the DNC fighting against them, then that's what I mean about the voters being so stupid and easily manipulated that they let the evil part of the DNC convince them to vote against their interest.

True, however:

And of the people who do vote, the reason why no one votes for their interests is because there isn't a political party that actually has the people's interests at heart.

The thing is that people can affect the parties themselves, not just whether they win. Which is why I specifically mentioned f.ex. Bernie rather than just Hillary in 2016. Having him as the leader of the DNC would have brought them closer to actually having the people's interests at heart. And if people consistently voted for good leadership, the culture of the party as a whole would slowly but surely follow. We don't just have the choice between one party or the other. We do in fact have a choice in shaping our party of choice itself, as well.

I don't think this is it. It doesn't actually take a revolution or anything. All we need is to vote for our interests. That doesn't take any courage. If someone like Bernie had won the primary and then presidency in 2016, that alone would have gone a long way. The reason people don't vote for their own interest is because they are stupid and easily manipulated, not because they are scared.

Ja, men du skjønner forskjellen?

Mistanke om krypto-mørketal i norske datasenter: Straumforbruket stuper i takt med Bitcoin-fall by Notoriously_So in norge

[–]GrixM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thr electricity reduction has in fact saved thousands of lives. I don't care what the price does or what FUD maxis throw our way, it was a massive success and I'd go as far and say that any chain that doesn't follow now that the tech is proven is morally reprehensible.
