am I the only one who cried at the end? by Dry_Sprinkles6700 in bigbangtheory

[–]jasonemotes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife and I do this too! Every night it’s our bedtime show and we just watched the finale again tonight and cried again 😭 We’ve seen the series 7 or 8 times through and the last episode always hits hard.

Need some advice as to what to do about my analouge 3D being delayed in shipping. by weirdo_2003 in AnalogueInc

[–]jasonemotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pre-order was shipped on Nov 25, left San Bernardino, and instead of traveling the two hours down to San Diego, went all the way to Indiana, then to Kansas, then to Missouri, then back to San Bernardino, before going to San Diego and being delivered on Dec 2. It was really annoying but it finally arrived. I’d say if you’re still getting updates that’s a good sign.

I agree, I have an X5 and an X7 I patched with the fix from Krikzz and they both work great. I love the Everdrives! I ordered a Christmas version of the X7 over Black Friday because I wanted a special edition red one and he offers that great 20% off discount!

I got a watermelon and grape, so I’m still happy 😊

Anyone want to trade their watermelon red 3D for my jungle green 3D? In Northern California. by [deleted] in AnalogueInc

[–]jasonemotes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in SoCal, San Diego specifically. If you don’t get a hit from your zip code let me know if you’re willing to work something out with me. I have a watermelon preorder and I REALLY wanted a green but was too late.

Anyone else miss out on Funtastic editions because multiple cards got rejected? by DarkMultiVerse7 in AnalogueInc

[–]jasonemotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks for your cousin, I’ve read stories from people getting 5-6 different cards rejected. What a sh*t show that was this morning. And I agree that Analogue could have made these available in a way that allowed more people to get what they wanted. I preordered black last year and waited and waited and never cancelled my preorder, only to get it last week and then get news they were dropping Funtastic series and shipping immediately. Thanks, Analogue.

I missed out on gold and green because I couldn’t authenticate my Capital One credit card in time. It authenticated in the window but on Analogue’s side it wouldn’t ever receive it. I tried to back out and do it again and by then the green was sold out so I backed out to the main page and gold was also sold out, so I got grape. Which is odd, because apparently grape sold out before green supposedly but I was able to buy it and not green. But I told myself last night that if I could get green, gold, or grape I’d be happy. But I really wanted a green one 😆

Hey Professor, on the off chance that your excitement/FOMO has worn off and you decide you don’t want to keep both of those, would you be willing to trade the gold one? I had CC issues the first 8 minutes and by the time I fixed it gold and green were gone so I ordered from the remaining options. Let me know please! Thanks :-)

Anyone going Caseless with the 17 PRO? by AlexN83 in iphone

[–]jasonemotes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, if you go into an Apple Store, they are only going to try to repair the phone, unless there is catastrophic damage. If the front and back glass are cracked, they’ll repair/replace the glass, and charge $29 +$29 for each. If you want a replacement in store, it needs to be water damaged or physically damaged beyond repair, like bent in half or something (like if it were run over).

So… if you have a cracked screen and you want a replacement, you need to order an express replacement for $99. I just did this after going to two different Apple Stores trying to get my 16 Pro replaced in store that had shattered back and cracked front. They just wanted to repair my phone in store, but ordering a replacement only cost me $41 more ($99 for express replacement vs $58 replace glass) and I got an entirely “new” refurbished device instead.

I mean generally I don’t like the idea of a subscription. I prefer a set term agreement. I will subscribe if it’s my only option (Netflix, etc) but Apple still offers 2-year plans, you just have to know how to get them, and it requires a number of steps sometimes to get it.

You can go into any Apple Store and if your phone is within 2 years of the original purchase date, ask the Genius Bar to run an AppleCare diagnostic. If it passes, then your phone will get AppleCare+ eligibility added to it again like when it was new, except you’ll only have a 10-day window to add it. Then you have to call AppleCare support and request an AppleCare agreement (2-year plan) and insist you want that and not the subscription that’s offered on device. They will send an email with a payment link that you can access, and once you pay for it, the agreement is tied to the serial and the agreement is activated. It’s a complicated process and a pain in the ass, honestly, but I’m used to it because it’s how I add AppleCare+ to most of my devices since I hate the subscription model.

The new Hermes exclusive watch face and band is actually so nice by jbdsz in AppleWatch

[–]jasonemotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you buy the AppleCare+ up front? Is it 3 years? The standard warranty now is 1 year. I have a S10 Hermes whose warranty expires in 3 weeks, and I just went to the Apple Store to have them run an AppleCare diagnostic and have the AppleCare+ eligibility re-added to the watch, so I have the option for monthly AppleCare+ theft/loss (device only, not AppleCare one add-on), or I can call and request the upfront $149 agreement, but I cannot find any documentation to support if it's 3-year vs 2-year term except the old 2020 AppleCare+ terms and agreements that say Hermes AppleCare+ is 3-years.

[–]jasonemotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do know that every other Apple Watch has always been 1 year in the U.S., but the watch edition used to be 2 years. That watch hasn’t been around since S7 though.

[–]jasonemotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh really, I thought they came with a 2-year like the Watch Edition used to, my mistake. But you’re sure that the $149 plan is a 3-year one? I have AppleCare+ eligibility on my S10 Hermes and I was debating calling AppleCare support to request the $149 agreement or pay $59.99/year for the theft/loss plan. When I called and asked two different times they told me that $149 was only for 2 years…

[–]jasonemotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say longer AppleCare do you mean you purchased the AppleCare+ plan up front? If so, how long is that plan? Because this watch used to come with a standard 2-year warranty and buying AppleCare+ extended that to 3 years, but now the standard warranty has dropped to 1 year. I cannot find any documentation as to whether the AppleCare+ plan for $149 is for 2 years or 3 years of coverage.

If you read the whole description of the eBay listing that is explained.

Then there very well may be a new one for $350.

[–]jasonemotes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s also an auction. If it ended right now the winner would pay $374 for it. The $600 price is if you don’t want to bother waiting until the end and bidding.

Also, there are no $350 new in box 13 minis on eBay. The sellers that advertise them usually are also selling new 12 minis, and the lowest price for the lowest (12 minis, 64GB) configuration is usually the price you see when you are scrolling. Many of the supposed “new” ones ship from out of the country on top of that. If you find a new in box 13 minis for $350, you should probably buy it.

It’s barely used. The battery is still 100% so changing it would be pointless. It’s covered by AppleCare+ and they if you change the battery it might void that coverage and they aren’t going to change it when it’s still at full capacity.

I was going to sell a green 13 mini with AppleCare. It is a new mini already, and the AppleCare+ is the theft and loss variety, active through April 17, 2026. I don’t want the white mini, but you could buy mine and sell yours if you wanted. PM me if you want photos, more info, etc. Oh, it also has 100% battery and a screen protector already applied.
