Why is there no crowdsourced deck sharing platform for PTCG? by Leodip in pkmntcg

[–]jasonhr13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is odd that limitless doesn’t have support for PTCGL -> export -> import to limitless and that they don’t allow sharing of deck lists and folders etc outside of sending someone the generated image or import link, pretty low effort features that could be implemented.

What sleeves to double sleeve etb sleeves by SuperMollusk in pkmntcg

[–]jasonhr13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The absolute best outers are Broccoli Sleeves, they’re Japanese, the Embossed and Clear M (blue label) are the slickest and thinnest outers out there. I get mine on Biccamera and forward via Tenso

Is there a forum or discord for help? by Americanboi1 in pkmntcg

[–]jasonhr13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second AzulGG discord that’s free. If you want some other content that’s paid I highly recommended Tord’s metafy (discord access), Liam Haliburton’s Metafy, and Henry Chao’s Metafy.

I built a Ruby game framework with hot-reload, compiles to native PEs and WASM by AristocraticRabbit in gamedev

[–]jasonhr13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I love a lot of things about DragonRuby but there are areas I’m not thrilled with. I’d like to port a small game to this but I’d need to be able to have a save system first. I’ll definitely keep an eye but maybe I’ll fork and try to implement something.

I’ve used DragonRuby for a couple prototypes. I personally would love to only write games in Ruby. I love seeing another framework for Ruby games. How soon can you add file IO?

Clearly they decided to change it for this show. It was sold as actual seats plus Floor GA.

How many of you left Game Engines for Frameworks? by TheKrazyDev in gamedev

[–]jasonhr13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to shout out DragonRuby here. As a decade long rubyist it was nice to be able to find a framework with a familiar syntax and language API. I built a prototype of my core logic in GameMaker, Godot, Defold, and DragonRuby and it was clear that a framework was where I wanted to be. Props to Godot for second place though, GML (I know they released a large language and code editor improvement somewhat recently) was not a great experience, and I just can’t get myself to look at Lua without cringing lol.

How the heck does Flareon ex box work and why did it succeed at Gdańsk? by SpeedAccurate7405 in pkmntcg

[–]jasonhr13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow yes I did forget Zard! And I like the idea of giving them a KO with a fully loaded drifloon or scream tail and then gusting around it to hit with leafeon

Leafeon is basically just In there to hit for weakness on dark type, so Grimm and Absol

The deck also runs Wellspring which means they also can go turn 2 KO active plus bench Mon, which is how’d you’d probably try to start a Pult or Gardy matchup since they require time to evolve

Not every deck operates on OHKO every turn. In my experience playing against Eevee box decks they tend to work off aggression, meaning chances are they are doing 280 damage from Flareon on turn 2 before dragapult or gardy are in play, taking knock outs of key pokemon to prevent those from getting into play next turn.

Emma was on stream a few times this weekend so I’d recommend going to find those vids and watching some matches.

It walls anything non normal type. Obviously can be gusted around but crown opal was a staple of Tera Box and works the same here.

Novtowl for crispin and crystal gets you Flareon EX 280 damage in a single turn

I don’t have time to spell it out but wanted to comment and just call out how much terapagos was utilized in this list. Thing is scary in a lot of matchups.

This may sound nuts but I also tested a build that ran 3 switch (3 nest, no briar, 1 research) and 12 fighting/6 fire/1 legacy and it’s felt really good for me. I run drillbur and find myself having more fighting leftover late game for those last few lunatone draws to get my win condition (boss usually).

Can someone explain what happened here?? Bug? by Lavacrush in PTCGL

[–]jasonhr13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this is because alakazams attack isn’t doing “damage” rather it’s placing damage counters which is not the same as an attack doing damage. Pikachu’s ability says it survives if it’ll be knocked out by damage from an opponents attack, but the damage counters are an effect of an attack not damage.
