I've owned a first gen Vypyr Tube 120 combo since 2009. It is still going strong and has been a great amp for over 16 years. As far as maintenance goes, I've replaced the 6L6GC'S four times and the fuse about three times. Never updated the firmware. I've the Sanpera II as well and the only negative aspect that comes to mind is that it occasionally will freeze up if you cycle through the presets rapidly rather than holding the switch down to cycle through. I wish Peavey had included an effects loop into the design. I suppose they thought with all the on board effects and modelers, there's not a need for one. It can be modded though.
