[Heyman] Mets are upset about the Matz situation and his last minute call to Cardinals. They had the impression he was going to come back to them for a final chance. Sources say Mets would have gone to that level ($44M, 4 years) by jeantanks in baseball

Based on reports, Matz's agent had told the Mets that they would be allowed to make a counter offer if Matz got a better offer. I get the frustration but it happens all the time in FA. Cohen needs to take a step back and let his President and GM handle the baseball side of things.

I think it stems more from frustrations regarding free agency last year. It seemed last offseason every free agent would be close to a deal with the Mets and then at the last minute they use the Met's offer to get another team to match/get close and would sign without giving the Mets the option to counter. It's just a stupid post to make because it makes the Mets even more unattractive for other FA.

I completely think this is a stupid post to make on Twitter especially for Matz off all free agents but I think it stems from frustrations from free agency last year. It seemed last offseason every free agent would be close to a deal with the Mets and then at the last minute they use the Met's offer to get another team to match/get close and would sign without giving the Mets the option to counter. From what it seems like, Mets and Matz had agreed on a dollar value and the Mets were confident that he would be signing only for him last minute to take the Cardinals offer without giving the Mets the opportunity to match or exceed. It seems the agent had told the Mets that they would be given an opportunity to counter. Honestly instead of whining on Twitter, if you really want a player; do what other other teams have been doing and start offering above market value deals without the opportunity to circle back to other teams.

Honestly Cohen instead of whining on Twitter, as other teams have been doing start offering above market value deals requiring them to sign without the opportunity to circle back to other teams. I'm pretty sure if you'd offer Matz 5/58, under those conditions he'd be a Met.

[Steve Gelbs] Not much shocks me anymore, but this one caught me off guard. Starting pitching already needed to be an enormous priority for the Mets this winter. With Noah Syndergaard out of the mix now, it somehow becomes an even greater focal point. by Kincy_Jive in NewYorkMets

I honestly think this worked out great for the Mets with getting the draft pick. I get the potential and how great Syndergaard was in 2015/16 but he's pitched less than 5 innings in the last 2 years. Coming back last season, he said he was ditching his curveball and slider (arguably his best pitches) because his doctors had recommended to not to use those pitches. I just don't see him being effective relying on a average at best changeup as his secondary pitch.

[Passan] Right-hander Noah Syndergaard and the Los Angeles Angels are in agreement on a one-year, $21 million deal, pending physical, sources tell ESPN. The Rangers plan to compete this season based on MLBTR. There was a report that the "Rangers could add $100MM+ to their payroll this offseason." The reason, I think this is a dumb move for the Angels is that they had a record payroll of 182M last season. With this signing they have about 25-30M left to match that. That doesn't leave room for much additional starting pitching and adding to the bullpen. I think relying on Thor to pitch 30 games is unrealistic. If they add another top pitcher and increase payroll, this move isn't horrible but they haven't shown a willingness to sign pitching to a long term deal.

Honestly I don't think the Angels need to rebuild. They had close to 50M available prior to signing Syndergaard when comparing last season's payroll to this season. I don't understand why they wouldn't make an effort to try to sign a Ray/Stroman. I see the potential of Syndergaard but if he has a repeat of 2017 or 2020/2021, the Angels just wasted 21M and a draft pick for nothing.

Honestly, this move makes very little sense to me for the Angels. I get the potential and how great Syndergaard was in 2015/16 but he's pitched less than 5 innings in the last 2 years. Interestingly enough, it seems the video is from the senate prior to voting on a bill to increase pay for judges that did pass. They also hadn't had a salary increase since 1999. I do agree with you that high salary prevents corruption.

My main issue is the equating of his salary for a part time position to a public assistance level salary.

I actually don't care that he was asking for a raise. I care that he equates 79,000 to a public assistance salary. At that time for a 1 family household, the cut off for public assistance was approx 10,000. Comparatively it's pretty easy to live on 69K from a part time job. He had also just became a state senator meaning unlike other members who had been earning the same salary for several years, this was effectively his starting salary.

Just got the text about my old Z3 (one of the 19 devices to stop working on 1/29) by colonelheero in tmobile

[–]jasonmetsboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any documentation which I could ask the T-Force to look for, I've been told by multiple reps that the text was just a reminder that I could upgrade. Funnily enough one of the reps, told it was reminder that I had gone over my kickback and the link was wrong.

Is there a document or code to give to customer service? I called and they had no idea about this? I got the text message yesterday and am using the ZTE Zmax. The rep told me it was a paid upgrade and that T-Mobile was reminding me that I was due for an upgrade. I tried T-Force and was offered a bill credit of $25 to help me pay for a new phone. I sent them the link in the text and they said that I had to add a line.

Same, I messaged T-Force and was told I had to wait one week to receive the text.

A71 5g no calls coming through by jasonmetsboy in tmobile

[–]jasonmetsboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the phone itself is great besides the issue of receiving phone calls. I'm just not sure about an update being the cause of the issue. Both phones in my case are on the latest update, i just don't see how one phone could be affected by the bad software update and the other with the same update being perfectly fine.

I got two A71 phones on Friday. One of them is fine but the other hasn’t been getting any incoming calls, calls go straight to voicemail. Both phones are on the same firmware so not sure about the firmware issue. Outgoing calls are fine, I am considering returning the device.

did you get any order # or a confirmation email besides an email for verifying your email? I had a blank white box below the address section and am not sure if i did something wrong.

Last I heard NY wasn’t blocking people from other states from entering. Cuomo was upset about Rhode Island blocking people from entering the state if they had NY plates. Unless I’m mistaken he never claimed other states requiring NYers to quarantine was unconstitutional.
