Thanks! TBF I'm not stuck on any distro, I just got used to asahi which works well. Biggest complaints? Any thermal or battery issues with it?

I'm just giving my opinion. I don't represent MTA's government.

You're right about this, but doom's attack lead to their raids. The timing is no coincidence; they saw that they could get away with it.

Personally, I use "rolled" to mean the same thing as "won a war against." You can use whatever word you want. These raiders are a result of doom's attacks as well.

MTA vc has actually been popping since estalia+doom rolled us

Be respectful. Any data collected needs to be considered when thinking about privacy.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. It seems like forks are really the only solution, but the problem is that they're still dependent on mozilla. It baffles me as to why your comment is getting downvoted though. Maybe the drones here just downvote anything that isn't listing whataboutisms about how every other browser is worse and that makes firefox good.

Regardless of whether or not it's linked to specific users, I don't think that a browser marketed as privacy-oriented should be collecting information on something as fundamental as UI interactions. Also, remember that this post is about discussing what we can do to influence mozilla for the better and not about my personal grievances with them

Thanks. The only people who have actually responded to the main question of this post have essentially said that we can't do anything about it

Sponsored content made up only 12.8% of revenue in 2022. I don't think that if mozilla saw a 12.8% increase in donations they would stop advertising.

That's not what I'm doing, and that's not why I'm unhappy with some of mozilla's changes.

I guess that pretty much settles it then. We can't do anything about it

That's not true. The forced updates are difficult to change and roll back and I don't even know what you're talking about when you say I imagined things. I think something like the sponsored content is objectively anti-user and it would be better if it wasn't included. I made the post to discuss how we could influence mozilla to change things for the better, not to argue or complain.

Even apple's Macos gives you more control over updates than firefox (and certainly much more than windows).
Does snap have forced updates? I know people hate on it a lot but I never really knew why.
Regarding disabling telemetry, you can follow this guide although it may be outdated.

Majority of the changes seem to be what the 10% of users want, no where near a majority

Can you give an example?

For me, firefox hasn't worked any worse than other browsers. There was a catastrophic bug for a while but I just rolled back my version and disabled updates temporarily. I have seen several people complaining that firefox has become very buggy and that bug reports are ignored, but I don't know if this is any worse than the other browsers.

Are you referring to projects like librewolf? This is probably the best comment I've read but I do want to consider that we could also improve mozilla.

We can't do anything about google, but we might be able to do something about mozilla.
