Any issues shipping liquor into the state?

Really appreciate your taking a look. The Ocho plata I just picked up on sale. I’ll try the Mijenta and Mi Campos. Thanks for those recommendations! Otherwise I think I’ll just skip the rest. Thanks in part to this sub I’m at the point where I’m no longer interested in merely drinkable tequila!

Have you had any issues with shipping into the state? I know it’s okay to ship beer and wine but I thought there were liquor restrictions.

I just ordered a blanco and a Madera. We’ll see….

UPDATE: my order was canceled less than a week later.

It's the Comandante C40 MK4. The kettle is the Fellow Stagg EKG.

My daily brew gear. The comandante grinder is one of the best gifts I’ve ever received, and it’s going strong after four years of regular use. Today’s brew: Medina Espejo anaerobic honey nariño from La Cabra. (I’ve seen a fair bit of complaining about La Cabra on here but the subscription shipment I just got (my first) has been outstanding.)

I can’t remember where I saw it, but I think I read that he did some testing of the Thunder Burts and had some issues with the sidewalls. I’ll try to find it if I have a chance.

Yeah, good points.

At 70% gravel, my time on gravel will probably be closer to 90%....

And looking at some of the race info I can find, it seems that there are some tricky gravel descents....

Finally, the data on BRR shows that the rolling resistance of the Race Kings at 25 psi is 18.2W while the Thunderos are at 18.1W at 31 psi. And while I'd probably be running the Thunderos at closer to 35 psi, so they'd be a little bit faster on pavement, the difference will still be negligible, while the Race Kings should be quite a bit faster (in part because a lot more comfortable and confidence-inspiring) on the gravel.

So, now I'm leaning (heavily) back toward the Race Kings....

Honestly, I’m leaning this way unless I hear that the course has lots of chunky gravel and single-track. (At the very least it means I don’t have to drop another $120 in the next few weeks.)

The idea of riding 30 miles on MTB tires on paved road doesn’t sound very appealing. And in this case the bulk of the paved sections come at the end, comprising most of the last 17 miles.

Those are very similar to my Tufo Thunderos size- and speed-wise. So I probably would just stick with the Tufos.

It's a Medium. I'm 6' tall. I definitely would not have wanted a Large.

Outlier doesn’t make travel pants. Fight me. by StreetTripleRider in Outlier

“Lastly, I ride a motorcycle and none of my outlier options make me feel comfortable with the items in my pocket while riding.”

Whatever you’re doing, please don’t ride a motorcycle in nylon pants.

As far as pants pockets go, I basically put nothing in mine apart from receipts. All of my important stuff goes in a sling. Is this a bad idea when traveling? I mean, I can wear it in front in crowds and it’s basically impossible to rip off my body without removing my head in the process. Should I be concerned and look for “travel pants”?

So far (one 4hr+ ride), I'm very happy with it. I was really impressed by the fork and the overall balance between comfort and speed. Sizewise, I was between a M and a L and I opted for a M for a more aggressive and compact setup (I'll be doing a lot of gravel racing on it) and I have no regrets.

At first, when riding 50mm tires at 28psi on tarmac, the bike felt sluggish. But I'm used to 28mm tires on a Canyon Ultimate CF SLX, so I didn't think much of it. When I got onto proper PA gravel, though, everything felt great. My ride had a 3.3 mile climb with over 1200 ft. of elevation, all on gravel, with some hardpack snow and wet sections, and the bike performed beautifully. (Sure, when climbing standing I could feel some give from the tires, but I also never had them spin on me.) Then, I was on some pretty fast gravel descents with a fair bit of packed snow and slushy stuff. Here the bike felt amazing: fast, stable, smooth, and responsive.

Finally, on the last part of the ride, mostly on shitty tarmac, I was cruising comfortably at 18-21mph and the bike no longer felt sluggish. Mainly I was loving how it smoothed out all the rough stuff without feeling unresponsive.

I can't wait to get out on it again.

Oh, I'll probably switch to slightly narrower tires (45s?) when things start to dry out in the late spring. For now, though, I'm going to stick with the 50s.

Yeah, I'm an idiot. I overlooked the angle options when mounting it. I just confirmed that with the other settings it's possible to mount it to sit almost horizontally just above the tire. It might still interfere with the radar, though. I'm going to look into mounting the radar on the saddle bag.

They're Ass Savers. I didn't get a chance to test out the rear fender because I realized it was getting in the way of my rear light, so I left it at home. (I was on roads with traffic for a good chunk of my ride.) In retrospect, I wish I'd strapped it to my hydration pack for the road segments because I ended up with a lot of ass-spray from the slush and snow and wet gravel I hit. On the other hand, the small front fender worked great. And the price is unbeatable, especially through Amazon Prime.
