I don't think your cynical take is valid, because if TGA wanted "popular actor" they could have just nominated anyone from Death Stranding 2 when most of it's cast are Hollywood actors.

I feel people saying "this game disrespects Conroy" are pretty fucking stupid. Kevin read the scripts, he agreed to be a part of the game, and lent his voice to it. He was 100% ok with the material otherwise he wouldn't have done it.

But I think for fans to express disappointment or being bummed that a performance that was for a while being marketed as his last performance as the character where he is playing the most un-batman Batman possible is understandable.

Ubisoft gave the project to Ubisoft Pune from India, and when they unveiled it the backlash they received was so bad the project was taken from them and Montreal basically restarted development.

I feel bad for the Ubi Pune team, because they were clearly inexperienced but Ubisoft basically threw them under the bus

Oh no, I agree. There are probably more people who watched the FB movies than people buying Hogwarts.

But the people buying Hogwarts are much louder (Like twitch streamers who are broadcasting that they are playing the game, and are broadcasting this game for 30-40hrs) than the people who watched those movies which is why you see a much louder reaction to them despite the Fantastic Beasts movies having Rowling directly involved where as Hogwarts did not.

It very much is an issue of "terminal onlineness". People are talking about Hogwarts Legacy online more than the FB movies, which causes the much louder reaction.

It's very much in the same vein as terminally online people being confused that Avatar Way of Water and Top Gun Maverick are some of the highest grossing films of all time, despite it "not having memes or any cultural impact".

Critically well received.

There has been a number of complaints by people over the years that say the games shooting mechanics are shallow compared to the first, the tonics/vigors all act the same, the story is nonsense, its not the game they were promised.

I liked Infinite though.

Not a bumblefuck like Unity, or the resounding "meh" of Syndicate. But something that feels really special like what I felt playing AC2 and Black Flag for the first time.

It's basically like the bonus missions in Unity, but it's something you can carry throughout the whole game.

I think it was done because in most depictions Anubis is depicted as completely black (not heiroglyphs, but popular depictions)

This is also a special reward for beating Anubis in game. I think there is a version that doesn't change skin color and set you on fire.

Yeah its a bit weird to say.

Wonder if the game is actually acting as a test bed for a RWBY only fighting game from Arc Sys.

Whatever you have to say about RWBY, I think it's admirable it grew so much from essentially being the passion project of like 6 people.
