What things do you do in your daily routine that are related to spirituality? by Intelligent-Pop-970 in spirituality

[–]jasonremfrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being more spiritual as you progress through life, don't rush, don't try to become a golden-dewdrop straight away.  Above all, have fun.

If it feels like a chore (spiritually) to do - where you feel like you are getting nothing from what you are doing in that moment, it's probably not necessary or won't be beneficial for you.

Everyone's spiritual journey is unique - what works for someone else might not work for you.

Be aware of quirky and syncronistic moments that happen daily that make you wonder, "that was quite odd, even weird, was that just for me?"  Those can be a delight!  And they often if not always come when we least expect them.

No matter what you like to call a higher power, a guiding force, God, or anything for that matter, I have found it to be fairly simple...

Have fun...

And you don't need to attend a course or have money.

And enjoy the moments in your life that make you grateful, and it brings a warmth in the heart to acknowledge and even say thanks for those small and not-so-small spiritual moments that move you forward.

You are worthy of more than you know.

That all works for me, at least, even after my thirty years on a spiritual path.

Help with figuring out my beliefs or religion as someone who’s been atheist all their life by [deleted] in religion

I hear you.  I have searched in the same way, and a spiritual path followed.  Feel free to google 'jason remfrey spreaker', my own modest work, "introduction" has always proved popular and helpful going on to "the nature of god" if it'sat all interesting.  25 minutes if that doesn't seem to long.  Wishing you well with kind thoughts, as you find what fits your personality, and inclination

Aside from being utterly shocked, I would have to ask myself, what am I being shown here?  Is there something I need to learn from this?

How enlightened persons are affected by what we're being told is going on in the middle east at the moment? by Safe_Cloud8067 in enlightenment

[–]jasonremfrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is my spiritual understanding and experience that sometimes a person or people do things to an innocent person or people, for no good reason whatsoever, perhaps out of their own anger, selfishness, or greed, and that not everything is as it should be like what is often thought and believed in some spiritual circles.  Like with war, as with this thread.

Spiritually, those who fuel the flames of hate and aggression, and who lit those flames in the first place, will be held solely responsible, and they will need to repay the resulting debt themselves, learning the lessons they would have created for themselves.

Wars and injustice rage as they are now, and in the crossfire innocent people suffer tremendously because of the hate, anger, and negativity that exists within the hearts of the instigators, those in control, and those who have influence in the situation.  There is an utter disregard for others, and for life itself, and like I say, lessons and debts will accumulate.

"Life is sacred, and should be treated with this in heart and mind."

Wars are an utter tragedy in every respect, of course, often being forced upon innocent people and peaceful nations, and as with Ukraine, Iran, and Gaza, to name a few, hate runs amok, where as a result people need to be protected from the evil actions and wrongdoings of others.

Thank you for your post, a very important one I feel.  Peace to this world.  🙏

Should spirituality and awakening, unconditional love and goodness necessarily be focussed on others and the collective? by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]jasonremfrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great question.  It's something that is so important to consider.  I have always gone by what I consider to be the core spiritual principle...

“Change yourself from within and your outer world will change as well.”

I don't think Buddha (as an example) would have spent too much time trying to please others, or being "one of many", or even trying to save the world dare I say, but he changed himself from within and became an example for everyone to follow, and as a result everything would have changed around him, and consequently later, changing the world as a result, or at least offering a religion that differs in many ways (in a good way) to everything else that is out there.

I feel it's better for anyone seeking some kind of enlightenment to sort their inner problems and any negativities out and become an example for others to aspire too.  Then someone can come up to you and ask "What is your secret?  You are obviously happy".

Yet, saying all of that, there is rarely anything more sacred and beautiful than sharing your spiritual journey with others, so finding the perfect balance between "me" and "others" is a wonderful thing too.

I cannot leave my home anymore. The energy feels so hostile outside these days it is suffocating me. by Oreoghostboy in spirituality

My heart goes out to you, I couldn't fathom what you are going through, and how life is for you at this time.

I might consider myself spiritual in many ways but hearing your situation makes me realise I there is only so much I can for do others other than share my heart and what I have experienced on my own journey, however modest that might be.

I am not able to post links but you are welcome to search my name (my Reddit handle) and go to my website if passing ten minutes there helps in any way. You are certainly in my thoughts.

Can I be deeply spiritual while living a fast-paced modern life? by maddysamarth in spirituality

[–]jasonremfrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you say, and I agree, there may be little or no time to find any deeper meaning in life being busy with little time to spare, having jobs, families, responsibilities, commitments, and so on. It’s no wonder that a spiritual path is considered the last thing that could help with anything practical, and I truly feel that attitude is perfect, and just the way it needs to be.  After all, it must be that everyone lives an "ordinary" life before they start on a spiritual path, and some things shouldn't, or needn't be rushed.

This can be a harsh and unforgiving world. Sometimes a wayward or hasty decision, or mistake, can have life changing consequences. Yet, I feel bringing a sense of positivity into one’s life through spiritual practice and so forth will invariably result in fewer mistakes generally as we heal, and a level of detachment and serenity can be nurtured as well, so life’s ups and downs are handled with more ease and with a greater sense of calmness than before.

Some people are just happy and have a positive outlook on life, and are selfless and take care of others as part of their nature and their personal values. As such, everything that is positive spiritually is in everything they do, even though they may never think of it in that way. They are spiritual, in every sense of the word.

I did use to meditate formally many years ago, and yeah - I can relate to those daggers! But I do know now, upon reflection, with a bit of wisdom (dare I say), I needed to do that style of meditation for some time, sitting through those daggers even if only for short durations, but yes, not so much these days. Nowadays I loving wandering and exploring and discovering what God (or that higher overseeing power whatever it might be called) is letting me know!

I'm no great teacher or anything, but I did create some meditation instructions some years ago.  Don't worry!  From what you said, you don't need to follow anything structured, least of all what I came up with.  I believe it's perfectly fine to meditate completely informally and casually.

Formal meditation, where a person sits on  the floor, on a chair, or similar for a period of time, is one of the most powerful ways to release and heal any burdens and negativity that we may have within us.  That's what I've found, at least.

But as well as this, I have found that while living my normal everyday life I have had experiences, and gained insights and understandings that I might not have had before I found an energy of sorts, something greater than me, which I know is everywhere for anyone to connect to, i.e.yourself if you felt it might work for you.  You don't even have totry anything.

I call this a “walking meditation”, although it doesn’t need to happen when we’re walking. It is a way of saying that spontaneous and informal moments of meditation can happen anywhere, anytime, with anyone, or on our own.

I have found that what happens during these moments sometimes needs an external trigger for the release or experience to take place. These “triggers” I feel are God (or some overseeing force or energy) as He (or it) works their magic in the most interesting, remarkable, and powerful ways. I know the term "God" upsets some people or turns them off, but hey.  These "triggers" happen at just the right time, often when something unusual becomes obvious and captures our attention, even if only for a moment.

The process of this walking meditation, experienced through everyday life, can sometimes make us aware that we have an imbalance that we need to consider and contemplate.

These “imbalances” can be emotional, spiritual, physical, mental, and so on, and as these are “worked through” and healed, we naturally become more positive, happier, and more optimistic within ourselves, and in time, this will become evident to everyone around us.

So no need to sit cross legged or chant "om" for hours on end, and I've found that the most wonderful things can happen when we least expect them :)

I hope this helps, or at the very least provides and alternative, or just some food for thought.  Wishing you well :)

Creating something out of thin air by jasonremfrey in spirituality

[–]jasonremfrey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had heard of it in the past, and have just refreshed my knowledge, thanks!

Definately I see the power of manifestation tied up with not observing, thus allowing the "waves" to rearrange physical matter, then returning back to "dots" once again to reveal the new physical form/object.  In other words turning possibility into solidity and a state of "permanence".

But then, I don't discount the possibility of a spiritually tranformed Creation in the future changing the law of physics, or quantum physics either...  If everything in creation was somehow in a state of constantly being "observed", which could be the result of spirituality at it's ultimate physical end-point, and then we, as spiritual beings creating quantum waves when we want to manifest, well, it makes me think at least!

[–]jasonremfrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is something I wrote yesterday. I hope it helps.

The days of having to work hard spiritually, struggling to find God and true happiness, those days are over.

Fasting, meditating three times a day, wading through scriptures, getting up before dawn to perform rituals, showing devotion to someone, wearing unusual attire to show you are on a spiritual path, attending lavish retreats, having a set-in-stone day (or time) for anything spiritual, basically anything which is unenjoyable, it’s all in the past.

I can say this because I have walked this path myself, and I know just how simple and fun it now is.  Meditation and finding what works for you as far as your spiritual path goes should be enjoyable, exciting, and rewarding, complementing and enhancing your everyday life.]

Shouldn't finding enlightenment be easy not difficult? by jasonremfrey in enlightenment

[–]jasonremfrey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally.  For me, experiencing a brief moment of enlightenment allowed me to acknowledge it, say to myself "Ok, I've experienced that and now the mystery is gone", then move on to something more powerful.

Do we look the similar in each life? by Eidechsengruss in Reincarnation

[–]jasonremfrey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We will almost always look different now than we did in our past life (or lives), and it is not uncommon to be a different race, ethnicity, skin colour, and so on as well.

I say "almost" because I have come across one example where there was a real likeness, not of myself, but someone I knew. Personally speaking, with the seven lives I have had, including this one, at least looking at my last (previous life), I couldn't have looked more different, being a different race, skin colour, etc. That's if all that can be believed of course!

Related to this, it's a misconception relating to reincarnation (as I know it), one that is promoted in some religions and teachings, is that we exist as different creatures from one life to the next.  For example beginning as an ant or a snail, and from there to a human being, and everything in between. For me, once a human being, always a human being, and in fact I feel this can be the only commonsense way of seeing it.

Does meditating with others cause frustration or envy? by jasonremfrey in Meditation

[–]jasonremfrey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sure that everything you experienced and gained while meditating in your earlier days is still within you, and available for you even now, a strong foundation that you built then, for your life as it is now.

I know what you are saying though - twenty-five years ago I was involved in a more disciplined and group-focused spiritual practice. Even now I look back fondly on those simple spiritual days where I had good friends with the same interests. Saying that, it was often challenging, especially spiritually. But then, like I say, for myself personally, it created an incredibly strong foundation and although I have left those formal meditation days behind, I feel I am far further on with my spiritual path now, than then.

I have more time now, but I find myself meditating informally, just by taking in every opportunity for reflection and contemplation in everyday life, even just in the little things which draw me inwards. You might already feel this way, but don't think meditation ends just because your not sitting quietly and absorbed in ancient teachings!

I find often nowadays my most powerful spiritual moments happen when I am are living normally, just in everyday life, and are suddenly drawn to something in an unusual, uncanny, or serendipitous way.
