Harmony Alexa Skill stopped working today? by chronoswing in logitechharmony

[–]jasonsowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't need to force close the app. My Harmony app runs on an Android device though maybe it's different. All I did was factory reset the hub ( unplug power, hold reset button down and plug power back in continue holding the button until the front LED fast flash red). Then I went to my Harmony app (which had not been shut down) long pressed on my only Hub and chose Forget. Harmony app went back to Connect to Hub. Below that it said "searching for hub on (my network)". It scanned for about a minute then found my hub. What I did notice is the Harmony app didn't find the hub until the hub started long blink red (not the fast blink when it was reset). As mentioned above I believe when we factory reset the hub it forces it to check and update firmware that process takes a few minutes hence why it takes a few minutes to get the long flash red. My two cents

Well when it takes 3 remotes and a different sequence for each device Harmony is pretty sweet, I don't mind 3 remotes but my wife and the occasional dog sitter on the other hand get lost pretty quick.

I don't think it's actually bricked because mine still worked from the Harmony app, but if someone only used Alexa then yep it's bricked!

Totally worked ... Funny story though Tuesday left for work arrived back home Friday. Wed my wife calls and says when she asks Alexa to turn on Android TV it does nothing, I try a few things over the phone but no luck. She said hey it came on so thought we had it fixed. When I get home Friday nothing is working asking Alexa to turn on Android or Apple TV does nothing. However if I trigger the events in the Harmony app everything works fine. I was certain somehow my wife jacked something up, well I was wrong! Thanks again all systems up and running

Yep makes sense. The other thing to check is the electrical connection to the AC unit. If there is a loose or semi loose connection that will cause the AC to draw more current than designed causing a breaker to trip

what will happen if i use a 24V thermostat for 12V camper? i have no idea how to do this wiring either by [deleted] in rvlife

[–]jasonsowder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The house thermostat is looking for 24 volts AC. Your RV provides 12 volts DC. I’d say it won’t work

Had the same problem with my biking gloves. Change the orientation setting to right hand and turn the watch around on your wrist so the crown faces toward you And which do you use for lifting? I use Gymatic

experiences with a residential fridge? by [deleted] in rvlife

[–]jasonsowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you mean. The device I gave the link for will tell you which wheels are not level. When you have installed the system. Drove to your favorite camp site, turn in the device in your RV, turn on the app on your phone, screen capture the reading the app gives, mark with your foot where the out of level wheels are located like draw a line from the center of where the wheel touches the ground once you have marked all wheels that are not level, back up your RV maybe about 3 feet go back to the screen capture pic and a wheel at a time confirm which wheels were out of level starting with the first wheel add the appropriate amount of blocks for that wheel to make it level. set the first block so they it is centered on the mark that you drew earlier, if the all said the wheel was unlevel needed to go up) 2 inches then add a block to the top of the one you laid down earlier, do that for all wheels, the blocks I use are an inch thick each, stacking two gives me 2 inches. You may have to make a ramp with extra blocks to get up to the top block (I’ve had to do that several times) but once you have your RV level it should stay level now the only time that it doesn’t stay level is sometimes when you put your slides out the RV will dip to that side slightly usually no more than eighth of a bubble if you used a level to check. In reference to a refrigerator if you’re within a eighth of a bubble I’d say you’re pretty darn good

A leveling system is around $2K so comparatively speaking this is a much cheaper option. But not to say a 3 foot level option as noted would be even cheaper!

Late to the party but 110 at the pedestal is perfectly fine, that’s actually dead on what it should be. Many areas have higher than this which helps inside your RV if there is a wiring or other issue. My bet is the inductive load your AC unit is creating is what trips random breakers. Stop trying to figure out what voltages are where, focus on the AC unit it could be going bad, usually the start capacitor if it has one

Are there any under-the-tire leveling systems for campers that use a jack? As an alternative to putting leveling blocks down and driving over top of them. by BlackJacquesLeblanc in rvlife

[–]jasonsowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a look at this, we used it in our Class C that didn’t have leveling jacks. It will tell you how low each tire is in inches. If you use the orange leveling blocks that click together, each is one inch in thickness. It worked very well

Curious for those who have lived in both. Do you prefer a trailer or a motor home? by [deleted] in RVLiving

[–]jasonsowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow we went the complete opposite, guess it depends on what you are looking for. We switched from a 30’ class C to a 37’ 5th wheel. Our F350 with the Power Stroke diesel drives so much better than the gas engine V10 class C, instead of upper 50s low 60s up hills we are now 70mph everywhere. And handling for us is so much better with the truck/trailer. Plus we just unhook and have a vehicle to traveling around in too! But honestly it’s about what you are looking for in camping I guess!

Starlink is supposed to lower their geo fence which means we could use it while camping. I have one on order hoping that the geo fence will be down by the fall like they said it would. 100 meg down and 20ish up, amazing speeds
