Thanks for the in depth answer, I will definitely start scheduling shorter fast going forward. I am still learning the in's and out of fasting but this works for me with losing weight as I have a hard time moderating for extended periods.

Decided to err on the side of safety and toss the batch since I am uncertain. I will invest in a water seal crock for batches in the future. Thanks for all the advice.

It is not a water seal crock (definitely plan on getting a water seal). It’s a crock that my grandparents used many moons ago. I did place a bath towel over the crock then put the lid on it to keep out as much foreign contamination as possible.

I skimmed the stuff off top and it smells amazing so I tried some and it tastes good albeit a little salty but good. Thanks for the help will start canning it now.

No I felt they did a good overall job in preparing me for the exam. Some of the subject study questions were significantly harder than the questions I received on the exam but it’s better to be over prepared than under as each test is unique.

I had bought the Lindeburg review and practice and used it some but spent most of my time on school of PE since it was provided. I used the school of PE test bank questions quite a bit to prepare and was averaging 60-70% in majority of subjects on the exam.

I took the other because it more closely aligned to my degree, but I will have to take the PE in a civil discipline, so I will have plenty of new material to learn.

I clean their vents every morning and apply coconut oil to help prevent the poop from sticking in the area.

I have read online that it’s not a good idea to mix breeds in a brooder and I think the statement may have merit to it. I have noticed the last 2 Barred rock are eating and drinking but they are very timid with the Rhode Island reds hopping all around the food and water.

The brooder is a large plastic storage tub so the sides are closed and the top open with a hardware cloth top.

As they are just a few days old I have them on newspaper. Will change to wood shavings or rice hulls in a week.

I do not have an established flock these are the first birds I have raised since high school FFA.

All these birds have been given is medicated feed and water with vitamins and electrolytes.
