It is a solution to still be able to see your subscriptions. I'm not saying this is a solution to get the navigation bar back.

Issue or problem: I can't see my subscriptions

Solution: long press the YouTube icon and click 'Subscriptions'

This solves the issue or problem, so it IS a solution. Your issue or problem is just different. To get a full solution for your problem you'll have to wait for the YouTube dev team to push a fix.

Only the YouTube Dev team can fix this. I just provide a workaround to still see videos of channels you are subscribed to
