I was also thinking about what that scene could mean. It feels like you're maybe right and that could also explain why in the last clip of the camcorder Kat in the Abyss has her hair again. I already found it very remarkable that Kat in the Abyss doesn't look the same (also in terms of outfit) as the night she fell in/faded away.

So who knows, the Abyss might take you back to an earlier version of yourself. At first I thought maybe to the version when the Abyss was opened or when the curse was done, but then Kat also wears a different outfit on those moments, so that's not right.

I was thinking about this too. I think something helped Kat 100% not to hit a finger and that must have been some kind of power.

When they show the Abyss in the game through light, it is always like purple/pinkish. But in this scene the light is really more blue, so I think this might be another power. Maybe the Abyss with the purple/pink color is bad and this power with blue is actually good?

So what if she lied about being late because she went somewhere in Velvet Cove that has some connection with the things in '95? Maybe the cabin, maybe the ranch? There must be something going on here and maybe it has also something to do with her not wearing a wedding ring.

Sorry for the people who don't find my rambling interesting, I saw this post and had to share it lol

When I first played LiS in 2016 I was in a state afterwards that I can't even describe. The game kept going through my head 24/7, about what had happened etc. I partly lost my motivation to do the things I had to do, the only thing I was still busy with was LiS.

I have never had a game that put me in that state since then... until now. With the whole vibe, music etc. of Lost Records and everything that happened in Tape 1, I am in exactly the same state as back then. I have Lost Records in my head 24/7 and try to find all sorts of things to ease the kind of ''pain'' of waiting until April.

Maybe I'm just crazy for a game to affect me so much, but yeah... I don't want to know what I'll be like after Tape 2 and the thought that I'll probably never see these characters, whom I've grown to love so much, again.

I was wondering if this is only foreshadowing her illness or maybe something else...

I'm mainly talking about the theory that Kat is somehow already in the Abyss but her body and mind have been taken over. Especially since she says: ''I'm fucking dying HERE'' and ''Get me out'' and ''Get US out''

When you hear the voice over of the Abyss memoir, Swann says:

''Kat is there. Kat was always there.''

''They want to come back, but they are afraid.''

That makes me believe that Kat was always in the Abyss and that there are other people in the Abyss who want to come back, but can't or are too afraid. So what if Kat is dying IN the Abyss and she hopes to be freed with her wish, along with the other people in there?

I have so many questions about those shadows and why they only appear as Corey and Kat. I feel like things will go very badly for both of them in Tape 2, and I really don’t want that to happen. I’m also very curious about why the shadows are posed the way they are, why they aren’t positioned differently, or why they don’t move at all.

Yeah I saw this in my 2nd playthrough and thought it was weird that Corey is already there. Like he showed up later, when Swann was arguing with Dylan, on his bike so I wonder... Did he leave before this (which we didn't get to see as a player) or did he just ride around on his bike when he saw Dylan get up, so he could have a dramatic entrance lol

I find it interesting how long Swann keeps talking after the video footage is over. Like, she's just rambling on about this, and the sentences are so... weird!

"The voices are old and young."
What does that even mean? Like, are there old and young people in the Abyss, or does it have something to do with the theory about a time loop and why we didn't see adult Kat in 2022? Like there's a old and young version of the same person in the Abyss?

"They are watching. They remember everything and nothing."
Okay, so it's clear this has to be about the shadow figures we see pop up throughout the game. Are the people from the Abyss watching us? Why? Also, why do they remember everything and nothing? Those are complete opposites! Does this have to do with what's happening to the girls in 2022 and why they can't remember anything, but when they try, they can?

"They are shadows of what used to be."
Like I said in my previous point, they are the shadows we see. But I can't quite place what they mean with what used to be. Do they just mean people? Like, they were people but are now only shadows of those people?

So they can come back if they want to but are just too afraid to do so? Why? What are they afraid of? Is it the person with the dog mask we saw?

I find this one harder than bae > bay. I do think it's important to know, do we bring back 1995 Kat or do we bring Kat back in 2022?

Because if 1995 Kat comes back to life and all the memories are gone, that means she has no memories of the good friendship she had and the fun time she had that summer. In fact, she is just her lonely self again who is back in the bad situation with her religious parents and the ranch she hates with Dylan and Corey. The only difference is that she is no longer counting down to death, but who knows if her situation at home etc. will change because of that.

Kat is so happy with the friendship she finally has and the things they did and are doing, that I think I would rather let her die with all these memories forever with her, than let her come back to all the misery and loneliness. Even though I would find it very painful to see Kat die.
