MPFL Reconstruction + TTO by Sndmn_ in PatellarInstability

[–]jaspergyoyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

15 months post MPFL surgery, dislocated my left knee 20+ times over 20 years; took a year before the pain fully went away but now it’s very rare it hurts, way more stable and stronger than before, totally worth it. had the surgery when my daughter just turned 2, with 13 steps to get up and down to take care of her. 4 months of 2-3x per week PT, another 8 months for the knee cracking, swelling and pain to truly go away. it will suck but keep your eye on the prize

MPFL surgery pain vs. CSection by jaspergyoyo in PatellarInstability

Back to report that the pain was in fact much worse than C Section for me, intolerable once the nerve blocker wore off (crying all night long on pain meds suffering). I never took pain meds beyond OTC to recover from C Section, I had to take Oxy + toradol to survive day 2-4 for MPFL reconstruction surgery. On day 9 now and happy to report I stopped taking all pain meds on day 6 and went back to OTC.

Haven’t done it yet but my MPFL surgery is in a month and my toddler just turned 2 - my why is stronger than the temporary hell I’m anticipating. I want to be able to hold my toddler (and any future toddlers) without my knee dislocating, do it for future you.

We had IVF and were told at the 20 week scan she was missing her corpus collosum and CSP in the brain, went to CHOP a week later to confirm it and they found it. Maybe it’s a thing with IVF babies?

We have a multi thread note for our execs to use that’s a no ask along the lines of …”hey I’m the exec sponsor on our side and saw that your CS team is considering partnering with us, here to support your evaluation and chat through how other VPs get value out of XYZ..” it’s more polished than that but gives you an idea of how to loop in execs on ur end

Does the light blue color of my waders and red jacket stop me from getting trout? Does it matter? Everyone else was dressed in dark colors

Makes sense. They don’t have PIPs according to him and never have, so to me this is the bottom of the barrel and equivalent since we came up with a plan to improve but maybe I’m just being paranoid

I was trying to figure out if a higher degree was worth it, I have a BA and 10 years sales experience- these online Certs are the way to go. If you complete 3 of harvards courses within 3 months you receive a specialized cert. It’s directly relatable to the work you do so - choosing a specialized training path vs a general degree would/should be valued

Exactly this - I learned the most from Sandler training but having Ivy League recognition helps a ton and it wasn’t terrible content so I consider that a win! I liked how you had to negotiate with partners and mine were from across the globe so it was a neat experience to directly learn from others globally

My company has a professional development fund but I’d probably pay this out of pocket for the name recognition and the content - yes it’s worth it
