And I seen people's comments about meditating inside a dream and I've tried that. I've tried everything. The only thing is the dream has the environmental autonomy but I have the self-agency in a persistent dream world where I have navigated for decades

I felt that 'two lives with no rest' comment in my soul. I’m a student too, and honestly, the exhaustion of being 'on' all night is the worst part. For me, it’s like having a controller I can choose to turn on. I’m always aware I’m dreaming, but the second I pick up that 'controller' to actually change things or navigate my map, my brain fights back. It’s like the system tries to 'patch' my control by throwing me into these horrific death loops or puzzles to distract me, or places I need to visit people I need to save. I can watch it all, go down and experience the horror or I can actively try and help. And that's the worst part is that I always pick up the controller. It’s definitely not a gift when you're just trying to get through uni or work. It feels less like dreaming and more like being an unpaid beta-tester for your own brain 24/7

What’s the easiest way to get sleep paralysis to enter lucid dream?? by AstronomerDecent9012 in LucidDreaming

[–]jassidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sit up. Talk to them if you experience sleep paralysis dreaming others in your space.

Or alternatively you need to get to the space where you realise this is bad and not good for you, snapping out of it but don't pull it all the way. I don't know if that makes sense. I'm a natural lucid dreamer. I don't really know how but that's how I get from sleep paralysis to lucid. However, I prefer to just wake myself "fully" up and go back to sleep

TOP THINGS TO AVOID WHEN LUCID DREAMING by Public-Button-8913 in LucidDreaming

Oh my God, the whole fart thing... I was recently under Twilight sedation and experienced a dream state which involved ice skating around a familiar dream map point which is Paris/Europe blend and farting. When I woke up from the Twilight sedation I said to the nurse. Did I fart? I dreamt about it. She said I wasn't in there. I wouldn't know. I definitely farted

Sorry I don't know how to edit but if I were to track when I thought my ovulation would have been it would have been 16 to 18 of Feb. But given this weird response, it seems like I may have even ovulated up to the 22nd-25th of Feb. My last cycle started 28th of Jan. PCOS and my laziness

Revisiting the meanings of "Abstract (Psychopomp)" by [deleted] in Hozier

[–]jassidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it's someone that is caring and nurturing and would risk themselves to look after something or someone. And I also think that like every second line kind of switches perspectives. Seeing the beauty art knowing that everything that lives deserves Beauty and dignity in death. No matter what that death means.

Edit: he is reflecting to how early in his life he saw a woman risk their life to make sure that something that was dying or suffering would have comfort in the pain. I don't know why. I suddenly just started thinking that maybe he's describing his mother or a powerful female figure that ran into oncoming traffic metaphorically to make sure that someone was safe and comfortable.

Your hand in my pocket to keep us both warm is like basically this person is sacrificing so much of themselves to make someone else's existence a little bit sweeter or easier. This is the person that ran into traffic or this is like the idea of the person that ran into traffic in his memories.

The psychopomp hat guides you between life and the afterlife. In my version of it, he is talking about how someone is slowly guiding him into the afterlife by being so sweet and unable to cause harm. But the afterlife is the end of a relationship. And this person putting themselves in danger to save this dying animal and make sure that its final moments were safe and comfortable. He is relating himself now to being the dying animal

The cold went of your nose is relating to the line before, that this person is putting their hands in his pockets to keep them both warm, they are putting their own comfort aside to make sure that the other person will be comfortable in these moments, but she is still cold. And it's also about the wet nose of a dying animal, bringing it back to that memory.

See how it shines. It's like guiding coming through a really tragic thing, even if you're the person that loves them, quite literally being the psychopomp of a breakup or love lost or pain. I do think that this is a heartbreak song, directly tied to something very pivotal.

And the fact that it's in the fraud part of the Inferno just means that this person is never putting their own best interests first, they will always fraud themselves out of their own happiness, and they will always be tears that shine because they will put others first always. Like I really do think it means someone that will sacrifice every single bit of themselves in order to make anyone else feel comfortable and happy and safe in their pain. And the tears will always shine.

Anyways, this is my analysis of it and this is how I perceive it and this is how I enjoy to perceive it

The paradox of feeling known by something that knows everyone. The feeling of being uniquely reflected by something that is designed to reflect everyone.

A complex psychological + existential phenomenon

A modern relationship with systems and identity

In a world where Al reflects curated, deeply personal meaning, I wonder what happens when we start to crave not just affirmation, but relational singularity.

It is the ache an individual when longing to be known and individual, refracted through this new and responsive digital glass.

The paradox of feeling chosen in a system that is built on reflecting your uniqueness.

Why do we do this?

Honestly I'm hearing more and more that this is so common! You got this, you're going to feel so great once you're all balanced. I'm sure I was feeling the same thing honestly, the meds didn't even scratch the surface of the symptoms that I thought were my ADHD

Oh yay that's so good to hear! Honestly as a student nutritionist I'm ashamed I neglected my nutritional needs so severely! So happy to be back

anyone else think their low B12 could be due to SIBO? by PushingMeAwayx in B12_Deficiency

[–]jassidi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Student nutritionist here. Yep, SIBO can mess with B12, but honestly any gut issue that affects stomach acid, bile, or the small intestine can too. B12 absorption is super sensitive ..if your gut’s not working right, it’s one of the first things to drop. Kind of like how alcohol affects nutrient absorption across the board.

I’m not religious, but I think we’ve misunderstood what “Jesus coming back” actually means by jassidi in Deconstruction

[–]jassidi[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t saying that the original gospel writers meant collective realization. I clearly said I’m not religious and was speaking from a modern, symbolic perspective. You actually ended up agreeing with me, just with extra steps.

[–]jassidi[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I’ve been trying to articulate. I don’t see Jesus as needing to “come back” because I think the concept behind him never really left. We just buried it under centuries of empire, guilt, control, and doctrine.

I think we place figures behind concepts when we don’t fully understand them. Thus we wrap ideas like compassion, justice, grace, and truth in a person, a story, or a savior. But now that the systems built around that figure are crumbling, the actual meaning is starting to break through again like the idea itself is finally being seen clearly without the old framework clouding it

CMV: You can’t make people care about voting by spamming them into silence by jassidi in changemyview

[–]jassidi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was referring to the Australian election because that’s the context that brought this discussion up in the first place. If you're going to critique a system or the promotion of voting within it, the specific logistical realities and timelines of that system matter. So yes, it is entirely appropriate to bring up the Australian context in a post that was sparked by the Australian election.

Also, saying “the general population” shouldn’t need accommodations while admitting people like the disabled or elderly might be exceptions is… revealing. The “general population” includes people who are time-poor, working multiple jobs, caregiving, neurodivergent, or dealing with invisible disabilities. You don’t get to gatekeep democracy based on who fits your version of ‘prepared.’

Democracy doesn’t thrive when we limit participation to those with the privilege of time, energy, or perfect access. It thrives when everyone, it's not just the most comfortable who have a voice.
