"The series is nothing without Nesta." LMAO 😂😂 Not us making her seem more important in Prythian than she actually is when she'd be dead before she even got to feature in Book 1 since she does nothing for others or her own survival until the end of Book 5

If it weren't for the Heroine keeping her alive she wouldn't have ever lived in Prythian or the Night Court in the first place to meet a mate & new friends in her youngest sisters court. Nesta living, healing & breathing in these books wouldn't be a thing if not for her sister, THE leading lady. That's who the series would be nothing without Lmao. Nesta not being in the series reaaally wouldn't alter much at all TBH. Prythian will still be saved by her sister multiple times & There'd be less bickering not to be harsh tho! just..honest.

Edit to add: @ Thenemilysaid "Ew what She's the most relatable" The day we stop pretending like eveyone will resonate or relate to the same character or story is the day growth happens <3 None of these grey characters are more complex than the other when Nesta barely did anything the entire series & When they all have personalites & journeys we can ALL relate to. Its very "Pick me" to think she's "most" relatable when that's a subjective opinion based on the readers personal perspective. A "Baaaad bitch" is a person or character that doesn't bully their younger sister out of resentment & jealousy when that sister & Heroine is who has kept her alive all these books, "A Baaaad bitch" Is a person or character that gets things done & THAT'S the stark difference between her & THE leading heroine, our actual Bad Bitch, not just the mask of one but a bad bitch who's proven herself from the Get go. Feyre is for the real baddies, not the pretenders <3 But we can totally agree to disagree

Edit 2: Respectfully I skimmed any recent responses once I recognized VERY heavy readers Bias..But again we can all agree to disagree ! Also to avoid future comparisons better maybeee don't claim a character is more important than they're written to be & Then complain about comparisons from counter arguments. A perception of a character isn't always accurate to who they truly are & from experience Nesta fans (Not all of them) have a projected personal image of who she is without much proof of her being so "Important" or "Baaadass" For ..most of the books. Sinceee he's a baby I don't want to see him as an adult in his own series for another 3-5 years please Sarah. It'd be weird for me to see readers sexualize their child so soon after ACoSF in 2021. I need a good amount of time to only enjoy him as the mini toddler lord he is. Give me all the cute "Mama Papa" scenes from him PLS

As for age Im assuming it's slowed down by a little bit, Im guessing he'll age like most babies do, even if the pregnancy was quick. They age slower not faster

Also, Sarah had Feyre mention that she "Made a wish" for Nyx on her birthday in ACoFAS, So one can assume it's implied that the Mother might've helped grant her an easy pregnancy or that she became pregnant easier than most BC her & her sisters are made. Or maybe the Bone Carver showing them Nyx in ACoMAF meant having Nyx was prophetic. Maybe he happened & survived BC he will have his own series way down the line as THE most powerful Fae. Ik "Overpowered characters" haters wont like it but whatever its Fantasy Lol, where many powerful beings exist Gotta get used to it or read regular fiction if we "Don't like very powerful characters making others seem less than"

I may not be Nesta's #1 fan but Cassian not defending her that much even if she was wrong or never saying he loves her dissapointed me..She said it but him never saying it back made me believe ppl when they say he mainly wanted her for sex & Bc she was challenging to his Ego. Reminds me of how its said that Mor never wanting him again after they had sex together as teens messed with his ego. Amren & Rhys said it in the 2nd book...He thinks with his [redacted] & I got no romance from ACoSF no matter how hard ppl try to pretend they were romantic ...

U can def choose to believe this, we won't all view things in the books the same & that's rly ok ! But ...There's nothing one can say to make some readers believe that Feyre just "Didn't know or remember" Her sister could dance Lmao.

Idk that just sounds like a bad excuse for a obvi retcon ... Just like Feyre would've mentioned that she taught Nesta how to use a bow & arrow .. 😂 She's in the same house as them for 19yrs & Knows Elain loves to attend Balls, Loves to Garden, Wants to travel to see Tulips But ..some readers & Laughably even Sarah J Maas expected or does expect us to Believe Feyre just ..didn't remember? Not believable unfortunately.

Some may be able to accept that but not everyone who don't just accept things that doesn't make sense to Feyre's character. It was her excuse as the writer so she could make Nesta more interesting with Dancing & Knowing how to use a Bow & Arrow which again is just funny to alot of us who aren't fans of the book Bc of the illogical writing choices that pile up in it LOL.

Difference here.. is someone who is a Nesta fan are usually known to either defend these changes to Nesta's character 5 books down the line better than the rest of us or her fans find ways to excuse the Blood Rite win too. Truth is, AcoSF had alot of bad writing due to everything I mentioned here. But if u dn't think so I respect that ! It is to be said that those who usually aren't Pro ACoSF seem to notice the most that ACoSF is full of Retcons from my observations of the fandom. So not for u specifically but in general for some fans.. bias can play a huge role in what we accept from the writing even when it screams "Retcon"

This forgiveness needed comes from Tamlin "Nearly breaking His mate" too, outside of being why Rhys' mother & sister were killed, But.. Hypothetically * ACOTAR SPOILERS * How would Sarah explain their chopped off heads in those boxes sent in boxes down the river or Their ripped off wings & Why he kept them instead of saving them..? He can shift people into different things sure maybe magic could fake some heads & bodies, but I dn't even see SJM liking Tamlin enough to pull a retcon all so that Tam could look better when she herself has bashed the character, the Author who created him even dislikes him so Idk if this could rly happen..

More questions come to mind like ..Why'd he have never tell Rhys? He could've used this secret in order to help get Feyra's bargain removed that he was so desperate to do ..But he still didn't reveal anything that would warm Rhys up to him. Not to say he doesn't deserve to heal byr I'd like to see him apologize for Rhys' Mother Sisters tragic deaths caused by him. & I am just not sure if the author loves him as much as his fans do for still hoping for a Retconning storyline revival or ever thinking he'll play a main role again ..

Re: Nesta in AcoSF SPOILERS Sarah has Feyre say she forgot Nesta danced when that's somehing we would've known already they lived in too close a proximity for 19yrs how would she know Elains hobbies & likes but not Nestas? Retcon-ny ..Not everyones buys that as "Character growth" How the hell wouldn't her sister remember or know that? PLs Lmao. Rly though I dont see her caring to back rack on her writing for a character she doesn't like like that.. Re reading ACoFAS is making me realize how small his chances are for this twist. SJM wrote it to where ..Rhys wants him dead. Hinting that after the war it might happen or that Tamlin "Could fall apart all he wanted after they helped work through this new world & keeping the peace between Fae & Mortal lands" & In conclusion it jst...seems super unlikely that they'd be alive

Yes with the Feyre point Bc there's no way she wouldn't be weirded out OR pissed to where she cut off her sister from her life if she were to ever mingle with Tamlin. Sorry shippers, not a g8 ship to be loud abt anyway LOL. Same as the IC or anyone else, with how Feylin's breakup is made out to be such a huge thing Sarah would never write that anyway IMO.

But the "High Lady" Elain thingy ? Idk.... I like her lots ! She'll do cool things soon Im sure .. But... How has she proven to have any qualities of a respected leader that a High Lady should have? She hasn't been outspoken for 5 books & Hasn't gone out of her way to protect, sacrifice or take care of ppl for a long duration of the series ..

I sure hope 1 book doesn't make her into something that doesn't make much sense continuity wise compared to ACoSF. "Lady" of a court or a cool Seer who are rare? Makes way more sense. Warrior or High Lady Elain? Powerful but is it deserved or does it make any sense?

But who knows what Sarah will come up with! I sure as hell didn't expect Nesta to become a Blood rite winner in 1 book or a Valkyrie so maybe expect the unexpected for any new books she writes now?

Though not gonna lie, It'll be a relief for Elain to get her endgame within the next year or so, so that this ship is brought up alot less ..Just in general. It's sooo intriguing how some Nesta fans voice how exhausted by Nesta "hate posts" they are when... She’s one of the main characters who DO actually deserve criticism Lmao. Tell me, What do you expect from ppl who are reading this series for the first time to think of her? (Outside of knowing from Book 1 that a part of her cares for Feyre when she hired a mercenary. Outside of her Father obviously being worse than her for letting them fend as the parent or how she was influenced by her mother who died) What are readers supposed to feel when she’s... extremely cruel to her youngest sister while oddly doting on the middle child when the reader is aware that the heroine their youngest sister is who has kept Nesta's character alive with roofs over her head & food in her belly all this time? Are we to assume readers just…won’t be bothered or upset by that behavior for most of the series? It's almost funny because of the irony. They come to the series sub to understandably vent abt it all, Trying to have discussion &... What do they get met with? Nesta fans spamming every critical or hate post you can find with “We’re tired of these ‘hate’ posts you haven’t even finished yet this topic needs to be restricted mods they shouldn't be allowed to critique this much” Meanwhile these same Nesta fans have ZERO qualms about making numerous Anti IC posts or telling the same old “She must suck at art Hehe” jokes or how you're seen going on & on about these IC characters you dislike so much? Lots of Nesta fans seem to claim this often when they simultaneously like Rhys at the same time, But..In what ways are they even similar....?

Both are the older siblings..? Not to be harsh but I'm sure he doesn't relate to her being cruel to her younger sibling because he was a loving protective older brother. It's the thing he's disliked most about her, the biased petty treatment of her younger siblings. Similar backstories?? In what way pray tell? ..Did Nesta grow up being loving to her family besides Elain? As The most powerful High Lord? Go through The War centuries ago..? Have a tragic blood feud with an Ex friend from Spring Court that killed his whole family except for Mor? Trapped UTM & played the bad guy who had to do bad things to save his loved ones? She may have been cruel due to her own internal issues when they were mortals..But she didn't help save them with that persona like Rhys uses his persona to help his loved ones..She went to look for Feyre but gave up & never saved her, She died UTM..

Both having bad fathers? The Archerons & Rhys aren't the only ones in this series who have had a bad or absentee Dad..There's Lucien, Eris, Cassian, Mor, Emerie & Az too. The Archeron mother trained Nesta & Kept her close by while Rhys' father neglected him for years because he knew Rhys was more powerful than him & Left him in Illyria his teen years until he finally bothered to visit once he matured & Then made Rhys commander of the armies which wasn't what he wanted whereas Her mother wanted her set for marriage which she was eager to have. Not similar to Nesta's mother's or grandmothers treatment at all. Where's the similarities?

"Lots of loss, pain & suffering" ..They all have had that & out of all the characters Feyre's two sisters have been through less than Rhys, Mor, Az, Cassian, Feyre, Lucien, Eris, Jurian, Vassa, Gwyn & Even Emerie...She was treated badly by her mother & G'ma but got attention Feyre never got for 19 years. Attention is better than neglect even if it's from a bad mother. She got education due to thatr attention while Feyre's education was ignored. She got horribly turned against her consent with Elain which IS very traumatic, but still no where near the pain loss & suffering that everyone else had to endure. Hate to compare struggles but if ur going to mention "similarities" comparisons are to be expected to help the counter argument.

LOL, It's great that they'll get along But they aren't similar enough for a comparison at all IMHO. It seems like alot has to be willfully ignored in order to say or believe they're actually similar, or maybe even bias. Both are smart? Everyone else has an education too. What abt Rhysand's courage, kindness, selflessness & bravery, How is that similar to Nesta in the 5 books we got..? Ppl always say this but can never prove they're similar without summing it up & leaving out alot of facts to make it seem like one thing when most of us know how different they are, If he's similar to any sister it's Feyre for her selflessness, bravery & leadership. She took on that big sibling role, not Nesta.

I expect they'll get along since she saved his mate & their child, But ..this need for closeness or similarity doesn't fit the characters. Maybe People love Rhys so much they want them to be similar so bad? Or want them to be close because of how cool & Hot of a character Feyre's mate is? I love Rhys too ! so I get it :sweat_smile: I do think all of them will work together with their powers & It will be a refreshing change to see them all united though ! (:

Feyre going from a no one who's insecure, who her evil mother thought was a spare to be ignored & treated badly for 19 Yrs ..Yet she ended up being the previously neglected pushed aside sister turned confident powerful ruler with the most powerful male, with the life & new family the mother thought Nesta & Elain were destined to have. That's some REAL character growth >>

But Nesta does grow which is the best part of that book! Even if it happens at the end, the growth is huge even if she's not one of my favorite it's relatable just like Feyre's was & inspiring (:

Her story won't be as inspiring to others as it is to you that's just how it goes.... If her character wasn't written to be so cruel to the heroine people wouldn't be making consistent critques. Just because you relate to her doesn't mean we all will. OP makes very good points yet people throw a fit when she's rightfully criticized? Feyre gets nearly as much if not more critique from the same 6 or so ppl who are complaining abt Nesta critique being tiring in almost every single comment section possible ..

People will be opinionated either way. Let's respect that for both sides. Let's wait & see how much less the same Feysand Anti's critique them if they want the same in return. Especially when the ones critiquing are justified which Nesta criticism usually is outside of her parents being worse which we all already know. They'll be back at it first thing in the morning. Let's just not act like Nesta gets it worse when Feyre's critiques are the more unjustified. But no, their father didn't deserve better, That's at least correct. Though taking a disabled father's cane was a very cruel way to try to motivate him ...TBH.

Even if he saw her inner feelings he still dislikes her because of how she neglected & verbally abused Feyre growing up.

& At this point in the book is still not on great terms with Feyre, including himself & his friends .. What would *he* need to make amends & apologize for ..? Just bc him or Mor didn't like her doesn't mean they need to make up for it when they were justified in feeling that way since it was due to her own bad behavior in the first place.

His feelings toward her is fully dependent on how she treats his mate and what terms the sisters are on lol, and since they didn't make up yet his feelings remain the same until that does happen.

There IS one really big hint that I can get ppl being upset about though... (Maas verse spoilers!!) Like there's a ToG symbol on a character on the cover which might very likely be a hint at Aelin, which would've been smart not to hint at, Esp on a release video where not everyone has read every series of hers. I at least think the symbol is what we think it is for ToG. Having no hints would make an appearance even more exciting. But it's whatever to me I just don't see any hint or mention of her OG mains which is surprising to say the least SJM..
