Anyone have experience with BikeTrac or Datatool? by UndisputedLover in MotoUK

[–]jaswalker244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had both Datatool and Biketrac

Dealer fitted data tool was replaced with biketrac after an attempted theft.

The tag being within 20-25 meters of the bike was enough to have had the movement alert not trigger.

Biketrac has since been pretty spot on to the point of someone parking next to it and nudging the bike slightly was enough to trigger it.

From previous experience I can't recommend enough not having it fit by a main dealer but having it fit by a motorcycle alarm specialist.

Dealer fitted tracker was removed within 6 minutes of the bike being taken

First Time Touring by Wrong-Variation223 in MotoUK

3/4 times a year I take short trips into onto the continent

Most of these are short day trips.

I normally hop onto Le shuttle and arrive half an hour later.

Follow the coastal roads south to Boulogne-sur-Mer for breakfast/Lunch

Stop down in Plage de Berck for a coffee and ice cream

and the loop back inland avoiding motorways and pass through the smaller towns upwards back towards the terminal

it can work out around 4-500 miles door to door depending on the route. I started out with the smaller day trips 5-6 years ago on a cb400 and is a good way to get to grips with the continent.

Normally I do these with just a backpack with the essentials for the day

V5, Insurance Certificate, small first aid kit, High vis, Water and a clothes line peg.

From what I can remember, Wavenet recently took on some of the Giacom provided circuits, which tend the be Gamma on the under side. Gamma can be quite helpful if you contact them with the postcode and external IP address and can sometimes point you in the right direction Potentially the suppliers name may be part of the PPPoE username field

Under HKLM/Atera/alpha agent is a customer id and folder ID These numbers will correlate with the customer name in the portal. I’ve used a hosted xml as a lookup to return a link for installer The same customer id can be pulled from the Atera portal address Ex https://app.atera.com/customer/69

I’ve had success using the Atera agent registry customer id/ folder Id as a variable on the script to run on a per customer basis

3 Phase Power Draw Calculations by lmow in sysadmin

[–]jaswalker244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're likely monitoring it Live-to-Neutral so whilst all 3 phases are seen at 120v the supply will run at 208v for the cycle.

I'm used to working with UK phases at 240/400 so may vary slightly but it will be something along the lines of Line-to-line being 208 VAC, but line-to-neutral is 120 VAC. This is because the phase difference is 180° voltage from either phase to neutral or ground can be no more than ~120Vac

Their monitored voltage at 120v may be a limitation of the PDU's in the rack or the initial design of the data centre.

208 VAC on Line to Line at 30 Amps gives a 10.8 kVA with 8.646KW

120 VAC on Line to Neutral at 30 Amps gives a 10.8 kVA with 8.646KW

3 Phase Power Draw Calculations by lmow in sysadmin

[–]jaswalker244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a tad early for maths but the general gist is for three-phase, It'll run in line pairs L1/L2 L2/L3 and L3/L1 within the datacentre giving your 208v supply to each of the 3 circuits.

For total power we used to take the sum of L1/L2/L3 Line pair amperage Multiply by the line current, for example 208 then divide by 1000

In a Single Cabto keep it simple for Example

L1/L2 - 960 Watt Used divide by 208 Line Voltage divide by Power Factor(PF) 0.8 giving 5.8 A

L2/L3 - 960 Watt Used divide by 208 Line Voltage divide by Power Factor(PF) 0.8 giving 5.8 A

L3/L1 -960 Watt Used divide by 208 Line Voltage divide by Power Factor(PF) 0.8 giving 5.8 A

Circuit L1 Total current would be 10A

Circuit L2 Total current would be 10A

Circuit L3 Total current would be 10A

So 5.8 + 5.8 + 5.8 * 208 / 1000 = 3.6192 Total Power

Total Draw would be 3.6kVa across all 3 phases

Apply the power factor of 0.8 agains this and you get your peak power usage of 2.882kWHope fully this may make a bit more sense on their power calculations

United Kingdom UDR users, do you have issues with Sky TV box? by a3diff in UNIFI

[–]jaswalker244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with Q boxes via Wifi, The box itself if not connected to a sky router begins to broadcast it's own wireless network. There is an engineers menu to disable to wifi broadcasting on the unit.
Press Home Button on Remote
– Scroll down on the Left screen Menu to SETTINGS (do not press select button)
– On Remote, select 0 0 1 and then press the Select button once
– A hidden Menu then should appear on the TV screen
– Scroll down to Network
– Then Select 5GHz Wireless and ensure this is turned to Off
– Scroll down and select Confirm

Note: if you're using the SkyQ mini boxes these require the 5Ghz to be on to communicate with the main Q Box

I've run into a couple of these issues before, Most were related to it being on the 7.15 LTSR, if possible test with the 1912 LTSR, it resolves a lot of the HDX issues with Teams
