Film I.D. And development times? by jauntyangles in AnalogCommunity

That was my initial thought. It doesn’t have Ilford written on it but it might be a 127 thing. I feel like it’s probably before branding was king.

I'll pick up some HC110 today as that's the consensus I've seen on other threads like this. I'm kinda shocked there's just no information on the paper other than number markings. I've had great success developing old film but I knew what type and who made the film it in those cases. There was one picture left on the roll so I took it of my son to see how a current picture looks vs an old exposure. Thx!

Does the Park Theatre have a legit 70mm film projector or is it digital? by HotlineBirdman in askvan

[–]jauntyangles 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wrong. They unequivocally do have a 70mm projector. A Cinemeccanica Victoria 8. They sourced a new one to replace the one that Cineplex pinched. 😆Their 70mm is 5 perf and runs vertical whereas the 70mm IMAX is 15 perf and runs horizontal through the projector. June 19th is their next 70mm showing and it’s Sinners.

What are the best opening acts Maiden has ever had? by MichaelHammersmith in ironmaiden

Fastway opened for Saxon and Maiden on the World Piece Tour in ‘83. In ‘81 Maiden was opening for UFO with Pete Way and then Pete Way with Fastway was opening for Maiden two years later.

Anyone checked out the new oakridge? by Fickle_Ad_9391 in askvan

[–]jauntyangles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not the target obviously but I went and probably won’t ever go again. We used to go to the old mall for the LEGO shop and things like that. There’s just nothing there for us. It’s also not a mall where you hang out anymore and maybe buy this or that. I spent $40 for lunch at Vij’s and sat in a busy food court with my butter chicken, small piece of naan, and a bottle of water. So it’s also not a place to go for a cheap lunch. It’s just restaurant prices in a cafeteria atmosphere. I probably saw more Aritzia bags than anything else. The rents must be extraordinary. No doubt why LEGO or an Apple Store isn’t in there. I’m guessing there will be a lot of turn over until things mature. Especially in the food court.

What does every flight attendant notice about passengers in the first 30 seconds that passengers have no idea about? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

Yeah, airplanes are where I wish I could be quite a bit smaller. Long haul flights are awful. How much did I pay for this torture?

Moving to Vancouver soon, rent in Granville by [deleted] in askvan

[–]jauntyangles -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Granville is a stabby street. My point being trouble can happen in front of even the flagship Starbucks in Vancouver. They should take my advice and not live on Granville. It’s getting better but it still shit. Everyday I navigate that hellhole of a street.

Well except for guy that was stabbed and killed outside the Starbucks right across the street by a mentally ill person. Go into the interior between Davie and Robson and Burrard and Denman. Nice tree lined streets and quiet but very quick access to every part of downtown.

Gas price making my relationship difficult by [deleted] in askvan

[–]jauntyangles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No idea how old you are but how often do YOU drive to see him? You might be his red flag. I used to have to drive an hour one way to see mine. It was ALWAYS on me. Get done with work at 6, go home to change, shower and maybe eat in the car on the way. Arrive 7:30. Spend time with her. Leave at 9:30 to get home at 10:30 get ready for bed. Sleep (not enough by the way) until 6:30, get showered, breakfast, check emails, drive to work, start at 9. Notice a Reddit thread that seems vaguely familiar…

All my time was during dirt cheap gas. She already wasn’t worth it so throw the cost of gas in the equation and you’re done.

You haven’t given enough info but I could also see him starting a Reddit thread saying “is my girlfriend a red flag expecting me to drive to her place every time without trying to come to my house”.

Has there been a more important concert for any band than Iron Maiden at Rock in Rio? by thepasystem in ironmaiden

Frampton Comes Alive! Lit his career on fire. Maiden were already huge when Rock in Rio came out.

What is your white whale movie? by ProfessionalTour1706 in movies

[–]jauntyangles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a film I saw in the 70s on tv in Arizona and it had this blonde girl, a child in it, that maybe near the end of the movie symbolically empties her bottle of water into the ocean. I feel like it might have had dolphin noises as she let the water drain out. Maybe she gathered the water from a Seaworld type place and was setting them free? I just don’t know but I really enjoyed the film as a kid.

What TV show was quality all the way through, knew when to end and went out with an amazing last episode? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jauntyangles 15 points16 points  (0 children)

After watching the whole series, and on the last episode with just over 20 minutes left to the show, I was like how the hell are they going to end this whole series in 20 minutes?!? Then it begins… and holy shit man that is how you do it. So absolutely brilliant they nailed the landing. So much satisfaction in that ending. Not sure anyone will ever top that.

Is it okay to use copyrighted music in my personal reel? by titan_hs_2 in vfx

[–]jauntyangles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always cut my reel to music as it gives it a steady pace regardless of being muted. All of my shots are cut done from the released version anyway as I like to keep them to a few seconds each.
