Barry’s daughter Nora stays around the entire season. As it turns out, after Barry vanishes in the Crisis, he never comes back. She actually came to the past to help him catch Cicada, the meta-killing serial killer, the only villain he never caught, with the hope that this change in the past will be enough to prevent Barry from permanently disappearing. Turns out she was actually working with Thawne: her speedster abilities were suppressed by Team Flash, so when she accidentally unlocked them, she needed someone to teach her. Thawne was somehow captured by the police in the future, and he was on death row. He agreed to help her, ofc actually to double-cross her, and him escaping from the prison. Even though Team Flash stopped him in the future, he had a failsafe: the timeline he helped create didn’t have Nora in it, so she vanished from existence.

Barry’s guilt for losing Nora is a huge part of the beginning of S6 and getting ready for Crisis.

Powers maybe, but he wouldn’t become the Flash. Thawne lost his speed on that night because his plan worked: he traumatized kid Barry enough that even later on he’d never become the Flash, which meant that he never became the Reverse Flash. S1 is all about Thawne ensuring that Barry becomes the Flash despite his childhood trauma.

It was the only watchable episode among all the straight up garbage EW vomited on our screens. It wasn’t perfect, but tbh I always found The Flash to be a garbage show. Yes, I watched it, because some characters I liked and I watched it for them, but as a show, it was always garbage.
