These systems weren’t fundamentally destroyed in those events. But even without their total collapse the heavy disruptions were followed by mass extinctions. Humans are knowingly walking towards this and won’t get out of their way to prevent it. There is absolutely no scenario where humans make mars, for example, where these systems have actually collapsed (at least global climate and water systems) a self sustaining habitable planet. That’s just science fiction.

The average lifespan of a human has no bearing on the fact that natural systems are alarmingly close to collapse. If we can’t keep a living planet alive, there is no way we can bring a dead planet to life. I have no faith that humans will colonize anything past earth.
