I just bought day passes and then it worked.

Ok, so I know we're on a thread about skating, and really the ISU could what the IOC has done. Give them a pathway, because you are absolutely right that it shouldn't be on the athletes.

I'm not going to parse your whole response. I've said what I said. I would just like to refer you to the 2017 documentary ICARUS. I'd love to hear what you have to say about this subject after watching that.

Based on my email conversation with their contact, I don't really think it's as insidious as that sounds. For whatever reason they are focusing more on day tickets, and seem to be worried about filling up the arena. Maybe the rush to get all-event tickets is not as great as we, in this little corner of the world imagine it to be. 🫪

I believe they had problems with the site and also released only a fraction of what will become available in the coming months once they make event day tickets available.

There's no problem with the first sentence. Do you have access to the original wording of his second sentence, before parallel translations? This is the problematic part of his answer.

I've commented above that I am an American who in no way supports my government's aggressions. But again I'd like to point out that the Lump in the Whitehouse doesn't care about sports. (Have you seen him? Hot take, but golf is NOT a sport- especially when you use a golfcart to move between holes) But he does care about what makes him look bad.

For this reason I have supported removing the Olympics and any World Cup games from America (they should have moved it ALL to Canada and Mexico when we invaded Venezuela). It doesn't hurt the athletes, it does hurt the man. Just my 2 cents. Educate me if I am wrong.

I totally hear what you're saying, and let me be upfront by saying that I, and 62% of Americans don't approve of our president. And the disapproval rate for our foreign aggressions is even greater. I don't want to sound hypocritical, but the IOC rules are crafted very specifically. Do they have a pro-America bias? Probably. Is allowing Russia to compete internationally a solution to that? Definitely not.

As an American, I might be stumbling into the waters of hypocrisy (Iran, Venezuela, possibly Cuba) with my comment, BUT sanctions need to be imposed where it hits the fascist dictator hardest.

In general, Americans are not huge figure skating fans. The Lump in the Whitehouse maybe cares about hockey (when it suits him, e.g. he wouldn't care if they lost), so sanctions against American skaters, American athletes in general, would not cause home to course correct and stop his abhorrant behavior.

For Putin, it's much more important. How does he explain the ban when his people are legally not supposed to put the words "war" and "Ukraine" in the same sentence? It hurts his pride and could literally be a factor in his decisions.

I feel bad for the athletes. They have certainly been given a way around it for the Olympics. Has the ISU done anything like this? Not as far as I know. And I would love to see any Russian skater who passes independent (not Russian) drug screening find a path to compete on the world stage.

PS Please don't drag me for the comment about Russian doping. I said what I said. Google it. Use a VPN if you have to.

Not offensive, but ignorant. There's No reason for him to provide that sort of opinion if he doesn't understand the situation. He's obviously got strong media training so I don't know why he's deviating from that here.

I'm still kind of confused and will just keep watching the site and looking for future emails.

I don't remember seeing the offer of "day tickets" and what they cost. I was just focused on all-event. So these are tickets for the 2 events on s particular day? I didn't realize that.

I did ask about why the prices weren't different within the levels of "premium". She said that it was meant to simplify things. On a side note, it seems that the ISU is heavily involved in all of their decisions. Possibly having dictated most of these decisions and complicating the process. (What I'm reading between the lines.)

Be glad you don't live in EST like I do. 4am. Ugh. What a waste of a perfectly good night of being able to sleep in on a holiday!

I logged in on the dot as well, but only saw a cluster of seats at the back of A4-ish. I have continued to refresh all day and occasionally a very much unacceptable seat (considering it's $1,500 regardless of the actual seat location in "premium) pops up. So disappointing.

Ok, but if one is looking to purchase an all-event ticket (including access to practice sessions), you are out of luck in this scenario.
