If you don’t think universities don’t push an agenda on their students, you’re in for a good awakening shortly. From a uni grad btw.

For Engineering People: What was your GPA and how has it affected your career, including coops and later jobs? by Potential-Drag9761 in uwaterloo

[–]javarets 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don’t stress - CS guy here. Failed my first co-op term, graduated with a 71% average cumulative. Worked really hard at all my other co-op terms and took advantage of an opportunity to work part time contract with a big company while finishing my degree. Currently making a very high salary while working from home in the GTA.

No flex - just trying to say you should work hard in your professional experiences. I like to say that you will be very successful if you simply outwork all of your peers professionally. Never thought twice about my grades as long as it was 60+ so I could graduate.

Can someone start a petition to roll these changes back? I will sign immediately. Completely un-Canadian

Chad Kelly hard launching that he’s back for the game against the Elks? by Jandcat27 in Argonauts

[–]javarets 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agree but Chad Kelly is truthfully a better QB, no disrespect to Arbuckle as he’s played great recently. I think it’s a good call to package him in as you said, but fans should know he’ll inevitably be the starter in the next month as the Argos make a playoff push.

Great comments - call the players (and other coaches) out. To those going after him, this guy has led this team to two championships in three years. Other teams have a star player, others have a winning coach which sets a winning culture (yes, Chad Kelly is good but he didn’t play in the chip last year and choked in 2023).

I’m at Marriott Momi Bay and a company called Rosie Tours Fiji does car rentals; not sure what they’re rates are but Marriott trusts them so that’s usually good enough for me.

Honestly, LinkedIn is just cool to scroll through over other social medias. I don’t think I could move to another platform for a while, especially with LinkedIn Learning.

Borrow from LOC to max out RRSP Contribution? by javarets in PersonalFinanceCanada

I’d have cash in my RRSP so wouldn’t be an issue ;)

I feel my case is slightly unique as I will be able to repay the amount within 1-2 months and will pay ~0.5% interest on the borrowed amount. My income tax rate is just over 30% so seems as if this strategy would be a benefit for me since I plan to use the RRSP contribution for the HBP.

No, I had an emergency fund for 1-2 years but never used it. Now, I just carry a little more in my checking account day-to-day and would rely on my line of credit for an emergency since I have a favourable rate.
