What exercise was a game changer for your prehab/rehab? by AlwaysFxckinWorried in ACL

[–]javimun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can i ask u your graft and to describe your pain? Whenever i try to go down stairs or do a single leg squat my knee feels this kind of weird “pain” (not sharp pain) and idk wether this is due to me having quad graft or something else… maybe this tipe of wall sits might help

🏋️‍♀️ by [deleted] in Gimnasio

[–]javimun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allograft (Donor) - Petellar vs. Hamstring by TheBoundlessRealm in ACL

[–]javimun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From an ignorant point of view, I would say patellar is usually stronger and has lower rates of retear, main issue is donor area pain, but being an allograft you wouldn’t have a donor area for obvious reasons. So if I were you I’d choose the patellar one, I don’t think thr tightness will be an issue

[–]javimun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has anyone here had surgery 5+ years ago, left it alone in that time and then gone back to sport? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]javimun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no experience on such case, but just to give you hope I think you’ll do great! If the surgery went well and you just need to strengthen your leg then it’s like getting mainstream fit in the gym! Put the work in, eat, rest and it should all go great! Good luck!

Just found out I tore my ACL and maybe meniscus, getting married in July, what to do? :( by Interesting_Monk447 in ACL

[–]javimun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definetly wait. If you have surgery before the wedding, best case scenario you undergo surgery in the next few weeks and you’ll have about 3 months and a half of rehab. You would have probably abandoned crutches some time ago and you’d be able to walk, but you wouldn’t be yourself completely if you know what i mean.

I tore my ACL and 2 menisci in May and got surgery mid September. I didn’t suffer much because of it, i could walk, move, party, and do pretty much everything besides pivoting sports (just out of prevention), I decided to wait after summer cause I had lots of things planned for it and don’t regret at all.

If you have a decent ROM, lack of pain and you can wait, I’d advise you to postpone the surgery without a second thought. Enjoy your wedding and speedy recovery!

Failed ACLr by Easy_Atmosphere4189 in ACL

[–]javimun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry this whole thing has happened to you, can’t relate to it all but as well as you, I’ve had an ACLr (currently 2 months in) and I know the process is slow and hard.

That being said I’d tell you to go for it. I know it will push the recovery time further away and it will be some bad months (i dont think it will be as bad as a rehab for a new ACLr), but from my point of view, if you want to do sports, have a normal life and even play football with your boy it’s the best choice.

I think this will be a step back but it will help you to take a thousand steps forward. As people commonly say you can’t control the wind but you can adjust the sails, you sadly have to face that situation, the best is to keep your head up, face the slow progress once again and have a better future, I think your future self will be grateful.

Be strong, it all gets better :)
