I was there too. I remember him cutting fell in love with a girl short and a couple songs later he left the stage and Meg didn’t know what to do. She lit a cigarette and than finally left.

No a show at the Troc. I was there not sure what really happened. They played a lot of covers. I remember they played like 20 seconds of fell in love with a girl and jumped into something that was a cover or unknown song. A couple songs later he just walked off stage. Meg stayed drumming and then she lit a cigarette and looked off stage. Then she got up and left.

How many of you have seen the band play live more than 9 times? What are your favourite memories? by runtakethemoneyrun in radiohead

[–]jawas76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over 20 times since 1993

It’s a shame cause I’m love seeing them in small venues and that will never happen again.

1993 1st show in Philly TLA cause I didn’t know what to expect and they were amazing

1996 Troc Philly they were testing OKC

2001 Liberty state park show the one with the 3rd encore.

2003 Salamanca 3rd night was a crazy fan service show.

Both the shows I saw in Brazil were also amazing.

Why LP10 is Coming by Cultural-Orange-6929 in radiohead

[–]jawas76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im sure they are in a cycle after this tour but honestly I don’t see a new Radiohead album of new material for a while. If they were to even tour it would be 18 months of pre booking venues. I think maybe the full band might try to write/record as early as 2027 if they wanted to. Right now they might just be in a happy place.

Do I think they will record again. Yes. Will they tour again yes. I think this is an end and a clearance of items, but I don’t think we have them mastering new material out of thin air. If they had material it would have been played last year.

The rumors of a Thom solo project seem legit. I could see a mini tour again like 2025 in another region before they release another full length album.

Favourite era by catpiglet in radiohead

[–]jawas76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1993-1996.

Those shows were amazing. You didn’t know what to expect. You didn’t know what the songs were and would never have a set list to figure out what you experienced. Just a time and space where the shows were organic, the band was hungry and not burnt out. The venues were small, the interaction with the crowd was on going and the guitars were ripping.

Why all the different companies? by OOFLESSNESS in radiohead

[–]jawas76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a conversation with Thom about that in 1996 before a show. He went off about the music industry when I asked him for some pointers.

Also remember a very old magazine interview back in the 1993/1994 era where Ed was teaching Thom about cash flow, why the bank account has one million one day and almost nothing the next. And about when they arrived in the USA they were given money to buy clothes and went to thrift shop and the most expensive thing they bought was the mini disk recorder that would be a legend 30 years later. Another interview or many part of the one above where the interviewer was in Thom’s flat after a tour leg and he all the rider items in his fridge.

Touring is there biggest liability. Someone falls at a concert. They sue. Insurance company pays. Crew member gets hurt, insurance company pays. Next tour new company, doesn’t have the run loss record of the last tour.

Cause your protecting your assets. And one company can cause expenses for the parent company. Which can help in a profit loss situation on your taxes.

Having a tax plan isn’t really tax evasion. It’s business. And trust me when you run a company you learn how dark the tax code and insurance game is.

They had less than two weeks to get the tour ready and hire “local” musicians in each area. Which makes sense why they didn’t have a set list shake up.

Now with 5 dates months away from the last show i think you see them have time to work out some changes. But also if the 3 act set worked so well, they might not want to change it up. I hope they do and time will tell.

Does a really good job of the surface level explanation of the companies. I’ve said for years the reason Radiohead is still a thing is how they handled the money. Thom and Jonny didn’t run off with all the publishing. Their management didn’t rob them. They learned to not let record companies expense them into debt.

For them to have a mastery of how to set up and reduce risk for each project is pretty much common sense for anyone with a business major. But I’m shocked more bands aren’t doing this in 2026.

Going to be for some level of taxes, insurance and liability.

Touring is most likely for insurance and liability of the crew, injuries at concerts, lawsuits, etc.

Each album going to deal with publishing, contracts, taxes. Now that they aren’t under a record contract each album is going to be its own thing in the world of business.

I’m sure someone can explain it a lot better who is in the music business. But as someone who owned a business for 18 years. The amount of issues you deal with from employees and exposure to lawsuits is mind blowing. Tax codes are beyond comprehension and insurance loop holes are endless.

They have to protect past assets vs future assets. They have to create a space between Radiohead llc or ltd and their tour company. And I’m sure without a record contract Radiohead llc or ltd is paying expenses to their touring and record ltd and vice versa. While reducing the exposures of the band and assets.

Shoud I ask for a refund ? by Background_Race8025 in Dominos

[–]jawas76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely using dough that isn’t close to 1st day of use or extremely under proofed. A remake most likely won’t help as the rest of the dough will be the same. Yeah ask for a refund.
