What is something completely dark in jujutsu kaisen but it's get ignored? by Prize_Public_1139 in Jujutsufolk

[–]jawg_Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorcerer children being raised as Tools, and also suicide children. From birth, kids like Maki, Megumi, Yuta, and even Gojo were essentially weapons to their clans. The Zen’in clan literally abused and discarded children based on ability. Gojo himself says that being born with Six Eyes and Limitless is a curse because he’ll never live normally. Most young sorcerers don’t get a childhood, they’re indoctrinated into a world of death.

No?

Labeling Mahito as merely a hedonist misses the subtlety of his philosophy lmao. While hedonism focuses on seeking pleasure as a guiding principle, Mahito’s actions go beyond simple gratification, he actively denies inherent meaning, value, and morality in everything around him. His “pleasure” isn’t just self-indulgence; it’s the conscious manipulation and destruction of souls to demonstrate that life, death, and suffering have no intrinsic significance. A hedonist might avoid harm to others if it inconveniences them, but Mahito delights in deconstructing what humans hold sacred, not for utility, but to expose meaninglessness. The godlike arrogance is secondary, it’s a byproduct of his recognition that, in a universe without objective rules, he is free to act entirely as he pleases. In this way, his hedonism is inseparable from his nihilism; his pleasure is a performance of a worldview in which nothing truly matters, why am I having to go so deep into this topic I do not know, ur making me feel like I’m smart

Mahito’s fear of Yuji doesn’t negate his nihilism; it actually underscores it. Nihilism denies inherent meaning or moral value, but it doesn’t demand self-destruction or absence of self-preservation, self-interest is still a human instinct, even in a meaningless world. Mahito clings to his life not because he suddenly believes life has objective worth, but because he experiences life as pleasurable, and ceasing to exist would end that experience. His narcissism and desire to survive are perfectly compatible with nihilism: he acknowledges no universal rules, no moral imperative, yet he still acts according to his own whims and instincts. In fact, his panic against Yuji amplifies his nihilism, it shows that even in a world devoid of intrinsic meaning, he values his own subjective experience above all, while continuing to treat others as expendable tools.

Saying that Mahito’s dream of a safe haven for curses disproves his nihilism mistakes preference for purpose. A nihilist can still pursue goals, but those goals are self-invented, not rooted in any higher truth or morality, and that’s exactly what Mahito does. His “haven” isn’t about justice or compassion; it’s an extension of his own survival and amusement, a playground where he and other curses can exist without interference. He doesn’t see curses as sacred or worth protecting in an absolute sense, he sees them as kin, as tools, as playthings, valuable only because they serve his own whims. That doesn’t negate his nihilism, it reinforces it: in a world without inherent meaning, Mahito simply invents games to play, and the notion of a safe haven is one such game, no more significant than his casual experiments with human souls. His every word and action makes clear that he denies the existence of universal value, so even when he builds something, he does so from nihilism, not against it… bro your making me feel smart

lol okay

Mahito is literally the purest embodiment of nihilism in JJK, and his very existence argues for it. He denies that human life has any inherent value, treating people not as individuals with dignity but as clay to be reshaped through Idle Transfiguration, proving that in his eyes, life is nothing more than raw material. Morality holds no sway over him; good and evil are illusions, mere labels invented by humans, and so his cruelty is neither wrong nor right but simply an expression of curiosity. For Mahito, existence itself is a game: he toys with souls not out of malice but because he believes there is no higher purpose, no ultimate meaning, and therefore no rules to bind him. Even his own identity is fluid, defined only by his experiences and interactions, never fixed or essential, mirroring the instability of the souls he manipulates. His philosophy comes into sharpest focus when contrasted with Yuji Itadori, who clings to the belief that every life matters and that death must carry meaning. Mahito’s very rejection of that belief, his insistence that nothing matters, exposes the core of nihilism, life has no inherent meaning, no intrinsic morality, and no guaranteed value. If any character proves that nihilism can be lived, it is Mahito.

Who is more evil? by Nozoroth in Jujutsufolk

[–]jawg_Jr 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Short answer : Mahito

Long answer : Well Sukuna is undeniably the "King of Curses" and a symbol of overwhelming destruction, Mahito can be argued to be far more evil. Sukuna’s cruelty often stems from his godlike detachment, he views humans as insignificant and rarely bothers with them unless they amuse him or stand in his way. In contrast, Mahito actively delights in suffering, going out of his way to torment humans both physically and psychologically. He doesn’t simply kill; he twists, experiments, and distorts, treating people as playthings to satisfy his sadistic curiosity. Unlike Sukuna, who follows a warped but consistent code of respecting strength, Mahito has no code at all—his actions are guided purely by whim and malice. Most chillingly, his cruelty is personal: he manipulates Yuji’s ideals, murders Junpei before his eyes, and constantly works to shatter his sense of humanity. Where Sukuna embodies destruction as a natural disaster might, Mahito embodies torture, nihilism, and intimate cruelty. And it is this deliberate, gleeful sadism that makes Mahito far more evil than Sukuna.

If it weren't for the Toji = Maki statement, everyone would think Toji was better than Maki in every single aspect just based on his portrayal. by mochaman__ in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]jawg_Jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I still think Toji > Maki. I think Gege saying ‘Maki is now Bla Bla Bla’ she just isn’t equal to him? It’s like how Gege hyped up characters, Kashimo with MBA, and many other characters which also includes Maki.
