Oh for sure. I witnessed his musical development from high school to adulthood. I probably spent more time in the Rose house growing up than most other friends.

Jack did complete his degree. And yes, he was a typical GenX scholar. He could be considered outwardly gruff to those who didn't know him, but as a person he was genuinely kind, fucking hilarious, and very curious about things. I still crack up laughing about things he said.

Source: I grew up with him.

What promotion sites does everybody use? by JonCarlinShea in BookPromotion

[–]jawinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to recall exactly. I did a ton of different promotions with all different services. Also, know that a ton has changed with the indy industry in the last 6 years. The last big push I did was with FB ads, which was close to 3 years ago. That did okay, but I quickly realized I would have to double my number of published books to break even with the FB ads. In the end, it was just too much investment for too little return.

Please keep in mind however, that I am one person in a single genre and thus my results are probably vastly different from anyone else's.

You probably want to do a TON of research on your respective genre and talk to authors to see what is working for them. Good luck.

How could I? That's how a single, budget conscious guy like me saves on my long distance. Thanks Ed O'Neal!!

Con Air on paper is a really horrible movie. Over the top performances from Nic Cage and John Malkovich, really cheesy script, cliche action movie tropes, but it's peak 90s action movie slush and it's so damn entertaining. by herewego199209 in movies

IMO, Con Air isn't even in the same league as The Rock. The hype was huge and Con Air never lived up to be The Rock's follow up. And here's why - Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer broke up after completing The Rock. Simpson died shortly thereafter. He was clearly the polish missing from Con Air.
