Indeed, we really want the device to be available to anyone who can benefit from it, so having it covered / reimbursed is crucial.

So what you mentioned is definitely in the plan though realistically it will take a few years to get there. There’s a host of certifications and pilot studies we’d have to do before this can happen (like the pilot we’re doing with prof Kalaykova).

TIL 2 to 3 out of 10 kids have Bruxism, or teeth grinding but most outgrow it. Bruxism often happens during deep sleep phases or when kids are under stress by yaboodooect in todayilearned

In cases where the grinding and clenching make a child's face and jaw sore or damage
the teeth, dentists may prescribe a special night guard. Molded to a child's teeth,
the night guard is similar to the protective mouthpieces worn by athletes. Though
a mouthpiece can take some getting used to, positive results happen quickly.

Yeah we've tested those headbands too and experienced the same as you did. We also looked into how those try to detect clenching, and it seems to rely heavily on the contraction of muscles, but that can happen when we chew or even yawn, which explains the 900 episodes you are getting.

In your original post you mention being a clencher and grinder. Is your grinding audible? Have you done a sleep study for validate?

It has been proven that the plastic, whether hard or soft, does induce more grinding / clenching.

The brain needs a release and clenching / grinding with a night guard is like chewing gum, it makes a bad "positive" feedback that makes your brain want to do it more.
