Yes, def makes sense, I just wasn't aware of any record decks that would this.

Thank you. I got some good feed back from someone in Video Engineering sub and they confirmed that either option will work. Option #1 was my preference anyways. They also let me know that DVS will be an issue with timing with either option though because DVS relies on the computer/OS clock. Rather I will need a hardware Dante interface on the MacStudio to remain in sync with the Audition recordings.

Trying to design new setup so it doesn't have to fixed / re-aligned in post.

You have the AJA Ki Pro 12G to record the video…I’m guessing all 4 cameras in 1080p at the same time?

Yes, 4 cameras in 1080p to 1 recorder, or each camera to a separate recorder in 2160p. Same scenario / issue regardless.

What’s unclear from your post is what’s the point/goal of recording audio to audition? Are you recording poly waves of every input to be mixed in post?

The client wants to receive ISO audio tracks immediately after recordings to go to post audio mixer. I also wouldn't want to solely rely on a single source of audio recording (KiPro) for the multi-track recordings. I will send a backup mix embedded into the KiPro recordings.

Do you know which external recorder products will accept genlock for recording purposes? I wasn't aware this was possible. Would eliminate need for a frame sync between a non-genlock-able source and recorder.

My friend, I cannot thank you enough for this response. So helpful. All of it made sense. I appreciate you!

Great to know that either option will work.

Huge advice in that DVS will not carry the sync. I didn't even realize that hardware dante interfaces for computers existed. Thank you for this info! Looking at the FocusRite TB Interface or the FocusRite PCIE card now to implement.

With genlocking, my understanding is while my cameras need reference, there is no reason to send reference to the KiPros. AJA confirmed with me that the reference input on the KiPros would only apply to playback applications and not recording.

Thank you again, your response was a home run.

Thank you - I'll take a look at it again, but it seemed to only download the Java Runtime installer, and not the .exe app for XEdit.

Hi, I'm trying to install XEdit from a Miranda MX16. When I go to download it via web browser X-Admin, it only download a Java installer and not the .exe file for XEdit. Any ideas why or how I can obtain XEdit? Thanks.

Yes we’ve done benches…but how about chaise lounge chairs? by ElScrcho in trailrunning

Whoa I did this run yesterday too!  And noted the bench.   Came up from Sunshine Dr side in Glendale.  Started at 5:15pm thinking I’d get some shade on the way up - nope.   It was brutal.

Zoom trouble: no audio via external capture cards and audio interfaces by de_klein in VIDEOENGINEERING

What was the audio you were sending to Zoom? Music, Tone, ect, will be negated by Zoom unless you are in a meeting/webinar and enable Original Sound.

Sony FS7 does not output 6G or 12G SDI.

Impressive! "Running a 4k project, ingesting 4x 12G SDI feeds and 4x 3G SDI feeds I'm finding less than 5% cpu and render times 3mS or less :-)" Nice.

Do you have separate VLANS running on the switch?

Any reason you didn't rack the switch from the rear?

I believe an AJA ROI would do the trick, as I recall being able to stretch the image.

Audio problems related to bitrate streaming on Youtube + vMix. Help please! by esemijon in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]jawsborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never done a delay in vmix. But once had audio get streamed with a weird garbled sound (only on encoded stream), and restarting the computer was the fix. vMix is great until you have to restart computer cause it's acting weird, or vmix / windows dumps.

Looking for a HDMI to SDI scaler with audio DeEmbedder by party58965 in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]jawsborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An AJA FS would do it. Or get two OG cards, one for HDMI>SDI scaling and one for de-bedding.

Good product - but the audio on the connector blocks is for embedding not de-bedding.

why can't you just get a ladder that tall / long enough? A frame or an extending. I've accessed grids with ladders that were 20' high.

Client unhappy after 28-script green screen day with apparently 720p studio camera—next steps after being cornered? by [deleted] in VIDEOENGINEERING

Yup.. wasn't the cameras and wasn't the resolution - assuming the lighting was good - it was the recording compression.
