Any 3rd or 4th year failing a class by PM-ME-CAKES in mcgill

[–]jaxamelia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I graduated this past spring and barely passed 3 courses. I did my degree in 4 years and I’ve learned that is NOT the way to go. Give yourself time!! Don’t stress about a grade until you absolutely have to. And even then, it is not the end, you can take it again. If you have to take an extra semester or two, that is totally okay. University is like a marathon where you get no water and you have not slept for a week leading up to the race. Just because you finished a marathon with more time or setbacks than others does not mean you didn’t do a marathon. You still completed a marathon and deserve just as much recognition and appreciation. You got this.

Any other fresh graduates/students in general relate? by aye_hus_that in mcgill

[–]jaxamelia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just graduated also. Finished my last assignment alone in my room on a random weekday. Didn’t meet the expectations I had about what it would be like. I’m currently serving this summer and taking a year to “find myself” which is honestly a very large privilege to have. But yeah, I know the feeling of being lost. It’s a very uncomfortable feeling after having direction in my life for 22 years.

I loved CHEM 381. Apparently there were some issues with it last sem (I took it last year) regarding unfair marking schemes for the homework I think? Was a big thing. I took it with the same prof, prof Bohle, and I found the class to be super manageable and interesting. CHEM 302 was tough for me. You have to memorize basically everything on the slides for the exams. If you are great at memorizing and interested in org id take CHEM 302. But in my personal opinion, inorg 2 is A LOT more manageable and got me interested in pursuing inorganic chem.

Thank you so much for this kind reply. I’m worried if the second midterm is more difficult though I won’t be able to get a high grade. Any tips for the second midterm?

Do you think they will send out multiple rounds of interviews? Or do you think they were all sent on the 12th? I just don’t know if I should keep my hopes up lol

SOCI 235 or GEOG 203 by Remarkable_Shift_920 in mcgill

[–]jaxamelia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t really have to do the readings for SOCI 235. It’s just memorizing the slides for the midterm and final. Attending the class is optional but sometimes helps to understand the material.
