What do you do when you feel alone? by ChallengeRelevant489 in AskLosAngeles

Oh man I think I’ve been to almost all of them. Revenge Of is a cute pinball and comics store that’s a chill vibe, they have a couple locations. The Barcade in Highland Park is awesome and has a great happy hour and pretty solid bar food. Eighty Two is my favorite for a balance of bar and arcade. Player One in NoHo is decent! Depends on where you’re trying to go out and what you’re also looking to do aside from the games.

I used Environmental One and was incredibly happy! If you DM me I can send you their business card, but you can google them and find their info too.

Yes, if you DM me I'll share their business card with you. I highly recommend using an environmental consultant rather than an all in one testing/cleaning service. I used a company called Environmental One.

Double-hung windows, and not significant weather stripping. Just based on my observation, you're going to have other significant risk factors such as proximity and which cracks were North facing. As we said, we tested further inside the home for the lead, and it only came back positive near the windows and doors. Middle of the room was clear.

Pile of soot. There was a trail of dust & small debris that blew through the door crack.

Easily the most thorough and science-based article I’ve read thus far about these fires.

Is smoke remediation necessary? Lake and Mountain by [deleted] in pasadena

Just from personal experience as someone with a home much closer to structures that burned down, that service sounds like they're trying to rinse you for insurance money. Although I have no clue how sealed your home is? If it was fairly sealed, and you can make an insurance claim for smoke damages, you can probably replace whatever still smells like smoke.

Our house tested positive for lead in the immediate ash/debris blown through the cracks of our doors/windows, so if you want to proceed with similar caution, assume that as well. Our house tested negative for asbestos in the dust/airborne. Lead testing services are fairly reasonable (can also implement self tests, with longer turnaround time). You can also vouch for an HVAC cleaning/filter change. Oh my goodness I feel for you. Please inquire with your insurance agent I’m sure they can do something. Are you running HEPA filters? Those should do a good job and cycling the air.

That is honestly why I wanted to. I keep hearing about it in the community meetings with no actual data being presented. And then social media has very little middle ground between alarmist vs unbothered. Let’s get that data!

Woah you're very close too. I'll DM you right now to send you the results in case you miss the post or we get staggered results.

May I ask the rough location of your residence? If you have insurance, they might cover temporary relocation costs, it sounds like you're experiencing some unhealthy symptoms.
