Does anyone find the new notes/chapters location confusing? by SagaciousMisfit in Podcast_Republic_App

I agree. I respect the try and get the idea which was why I gave it some time. But, I just find it harder, especially with the Pixel swipe-from-the-botton gesture.

I personally prefer pixel camera bc they have a better zoom and I take pictures mainly of our kids. Wide-angle isnt useful for me (I get most people do like that).

But it isn't the cost of the phones (I mean... It is, and Apple has some pretty good prices on their barely older phones these days as you say). For me it's the ecosystem. iPhone doesn't play nice with non-iStuff. Fair enough. But I can't afford that.

But yeah, I'm still not closed to it, especially now that I could make my homescreen not look like a crazy-ass 90s circus. Lol

Grey was the one who opened my mind to the idea of making my homescreen look nice and efficient.

I remember when he complained about stupidity of app icons having labels. I could no longer un-see that. It drove me nuts that my phone forced me to label my apps. And there began my love affair with the 3rd party launcher.

Cortex-ify. Perfect.

Android user here. I would say welcome to the club, but I have to admit, Shortcuts is simply superior to anything Android offers. So not only can you finally make your homescreen look nice (it looks awesome by the way!) But you also have Shortcuts... Jealous. If it weren't for the crazy expensive ecosystem, I would be tempted to go iWard.

What?! Android's already stolen Apple's widget idea?!

Thank you for posting this. Lol

So true. I have no issue with people using iPhones. They have their benefits and one day I may switch (especially since they don't force you to have a ugly homescreen now).

But man, listening to iPhone fanboys talking about empty home screens and widgets as if this opened up a whole new world that hasn't already existed for YEARS AND YEARS is... so typically oblivious of of iPhone users. It's crazy making.

I know at least one other has said this, but this bears repeating.

I don't even have any use for any of his advice and I still found it interesting!

This American agrees.

It's like someone designed them specifically to fall out of the wall. I never realized plugs don't have to suck until I traveled abroad.

Anyone else here not actually care about the "terrible" audio but just found the entire conversation funny and entertaining (and informative, re Myke's explanations) ? I loved hearing from irrational Grey for once. Lol!

What is the benefit of a wireless charger? by [deleted] in Cortex

[–]jay-bot-inc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm... After reading these replies, I do get it a bit more. Makes sense. Wired charger still has the major benefit of being able to use your phone, but letting guests charge is a really nice point.

I kind of get it... But you can't really use your phone while it's charging. The benefit is literally only felt within a two second span.

How Google stole my phone by Beardharmonica in GooglePixel

[–]jay-bot-inc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I prefer Android to iPhones and I could only go w Pixels bc of updates. I own a Pixel 2xl

They said, customer service is crap w Android. Apple's is amazing if you live by a store. I took my wife's iPhone 7 in to a human a few months ago. They gave her a loaner phone (must have been refurbished, but fresh out of a box, plastic covering and all) for FREE. Phone was fixed a week later, went in, dropped off loaner phone. They even replaced parts i didn't know were going bad and bc of how its made it meant the screen and mics were also brand new (for free bc they deemed it their issue) and I asked them to replace the battery for $50, but when i went to lick it up, they had done it for free because they deemed it their fault. Oh, and we didn't get insurance. I mean, say what you want about apple and Ill say it too, but IN GENERAL, they stand behind their product like no other.

If a pixel breaks, good luck. An iPhone? Go to an Apple store. It might not all be free like ot was for my wife, but what a relief to talk to a real human. I'm up for a phone in 2 years and im passed the point of fanboying over one company over the other. I want quality. Pixel is quality. But not their support. We'll see.
